Fish rots from head down

If you don't know the staff at Black Whale, don't bother going... they'll treat you like bad fish tossed back into the ocean. Their salty demeanor is so obvious, the owners must be aware and/or condone it. This is a flophouse for locals.

Poor Service, Food with mold spores

I went there on vacation and had my worst dinning experience ever. First, I ordered food and it did not arrive with the rest of our parties food. Then a member of our party received a mussel with three mold spores and mold entirely covering the inside. It was the most horrendous thing I have seen at a restaurant. The mussel must have been sitting out for days. At first, we were very polite about the situation, ordered another dish and figured that compensation would be given. When the check arrived no compensation or action was taken to acknowlege that someone almost ate mold spores. We had to pay for the meal that replaced the moldy dinner. After I brought it up to the waitress they returned the check with 10 dollars off, only a fourth of what the dinner was worth. I argued some more and they finally reduced the dinner to 3/4 off. I had to argue about a check for an hour that should have been free and still did not receive full compensation. So, overall the food was decent if it did not have mold and arrived on time, but the service and compensation for such a horrible experience was ridiculous. BEWARE! Maybe spend your money somewhere else that will at least compensate the customer instead of arguing with the customer when the restaurant was completely at fault.

Best seafood and service in LBI

The atmosphere is cozy. The owners are great and the manager is a sweetheart. I highly recomend this place on LBI. Long wait but it always seems to work out. It is way worth the wait. The place is family run and you can feel it when you eat there.
