PLEASE READ THIS FOR 3 MINS.

*Ralph, the baker, put me down in various ways 2 days before my Oct. wedding
*We had a miscommunication about having cupcakes as favors for my wedding
*The miscommunication was his fault: we told him we wanted these favors, and he never wrote the order down, however he said it would be fine and he never said to call to confirm anything – we left thinking everything was all set, especially b/c he was also doing our wedding cake
*I called 2 days before the wedding and he YELLED, CURSED AND HUNG UP ON ME b/c he said we never discussed anything (which when I told him specifics of what HE SAID about the favors, he was dumbfounded)
*Don’t forget – I was a bride (and customer) getting married in 2 days…
*He told me I wouldn’t find anyone else to do this, and I did. After he hung up on me, I called another bakery, and in about 30 secs, they said they’d be happy to do this for me.
*We had a different bakery complete everything for us because of him, ultimately.
*The stress and unprofessionalism of this man (infant) is unbelievable and disguisting.
*I strongly advise you to not go here.
great Italian pastries
by MidMonRock at Citysearch
Normandie has been around as long as I can remember. Few places in the central Jersey area can do pastries (particularly Italian pastries) like Normandie. Every Christmas Eve, their mini Italian pastry sampler tray is a must-have in my home. Their Kringles are outstanding, too. I've never had a cake from there, so I can't comment on their cakes, but I see some complaints on this site. I think, however, that if I were going to get an extra special cake for a major event like a wedding or something, I'd go to someone whose area of expertise is specialty cakes (i.e., "Cake Boss" or someone like that who is more affordable, of course). But the pastries at Normandie are the best in the area. And the staff is very personable and helpful.
