first class operation.
Ive been taking my boats to Scorpion Marine for almost 5 years and must say that john and tyler in the service department have been the best. Im not one post on these websites but during a search for
my daughter on schools I read these two reviews and I have to say I felt compelled to share my experiences. The yard paints my trawlers bottom and the service department services my regulator with 250 yamahas. All my questions are answered and the estimates are spot on. If someone talks or meets the service dept. or the owners Dave and his son, Eric I would find it hard to believe that these guys could do the things mentioned in the above reviews and stay in business for the last 15 years. Being a local business owner I felt compelled to defend what i believe to be wrong and bet the guys at scorpion have no idea what is being said about them which I think is extremely unfair I wouldn't take my boats anywhere else and will strongly defend them against a few bad apples.

simple maitanance sabotage. Took my suzuki dt 140 in for a simple 100 hour maintenance service. Next day received a call from mechanic stating ECM was bad and the cost to repair is $2,200.00! ?!?! This was shocking considering the boat was running fine before dropping it off (ran it 26 miles the last trip without any sign of a problem).. I get to the shop and the mechanic shows a burnt wire that was obviously burnt from from the outside of the casing, he then tells me my ecm was to blame...so after realizing these guys were trying to scam me into an additional repair i told them i wanted to pay for the diagnosis and take my boat back home, they now tell me they may be able to get the part for 900......Hmmm thats funny ,5 minutes ago they said it was 2200 bucks,i again told them i did not want their services,so now they want 280 bucks for the diagnosis...After arguing with them and getting the owner involved, we settled for the 95 dollar charge that was included in the estimate for the hundred hour service........So now I'm out a 100 bucks and my boat isn't running anymore....…
AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS!!!
We brought our RIB there to have the bottom painted and it became deflated while in their care and they refused to take responsibility for it. The owner became heated and verbally loud while discussing it with my husband and I. He says he did nothing wrong, we disagree...but nothing can be proved either way. After apologizing for his outburst he agreed to repaint the RIB pontoon for free after we arranged to have it repaired ourselves. We did so and brought the RIB back to him to be repainted...bad idea! After painting it he had his secretary present us with a bill for $75 dollars!!! He said - through her - that it took more time to paint than he thought it would. UNBELIEVABLE!! And then, after we refused to pay the charge, he emailed us and threatened to black-list us. This is copied directly from his email: "The word is out from Canvas people to detailers and Marinas good luck and don't come back!!! Wish I could've told you in person" I just wish he was man enough to communicate any of this to us face to face and not have to hid behind his secretary or email.
It is sad to see a business run this way. Save yourself a lot of heartache and avoid this place!…
