Suprisingly HELPFUL collectors. I was so embarassed to be in collections, due to lay offs w/my husband we had some bills sent to collections. Ms Elizabeth Stone was very helpful on setting up a payment plan, and withing 5 weeks we had it paid off and avoided it hitting my credit score! I wasnt expecting such a nice collector. Thank you for being so respectful
will not return phone calls. I'm a landlord, and went to Cal Coast with a judgment against a former tenant. They did nothing at all for 4 months after we signed a contract, by which time the former tenant had moved. Now I have someone else who will go after the tenant, but Cal Coast does not respond when I ask them to release our contract. They do not return phone calls, I went to their office in person to ask -- I got the promise of a phone call, but no phone call!.
In this economy we need compassionate customer service skills that can offer help or direction. But this women was downright MEAN, she said belittling comments with Judgemental and arrogent inflections. Where in this age I thought you would want a PROFESSIONAL person with a non-emotional voice especially non ANGRY people answering your phones..
Lastly you should let people you collect for know you report to the credit reporting agency's. I once helped a client sign up for you and she didn't want that feature but you did it anyway.....
Cal Coast is bad for your business..
First, how does this place have a 4-star rating if EVERY person who reviewed it gave it ONE star?
These people are unnecessarily hostile and cruel. I paid the bill WELL BEFORE the deadline, but she refused to remove the collections action from my credit report as agreed. She insulted and belittled me instead.
Being aggressive when you're trying to collect money for your clients might be a good thing, but being rude and vindictive against honest people who ALREADY PAID is counter productive. In fact, a smarter move would be to hire a collection agency that gets your money WITHOUT alienating your customers; NOT this one.
Is this company actually for real??????!!!!. I received a notice in the mail saying I owe something. So, I call the phone number provided to find out exactly how to dispute this in writing (like the notice says) and the receptionist was so evil and unprofessional that I thought I must be in the Twilight Zone. She was mean and extremely unhelpful. She hung up on me twice when she refused to get my paperwork to let me know the details. WOW! I just was curious how they can go after you when they have no concrete evidence such as a contract or any signatures. This company cannot actually be serious. They are so off the wall it is almost amusing.
Shady. I have received a couple of letters in the mail that "DEMAND PAYMENT" but fail to ever say why. None of the legal disclaimers or anything that are LEGALLY necessary for debt collector communication is ever included. I don't even take them seriously, but I can promise you, there will be a law suit if they EVER try to put anything on my credit report.

This company is awful ! the secretaries, or so called collection specialist, are very rude, and dont offer any help what so ever to help you resolve an issue.
marie macoy is exspecialy rude, and thinks it's very funny to belittle you over the phone, I guess her head is all swollen up because she think's she is in a possition of power so she feels she can talk to you like your an inferior or something just because you have a dept. I hope the superiors there check her out, and make a phone call there to pretend they are an irate customer and see how she responds. Trust me there is no way for people like this marie macoy, to be allowed to answere phones there, she is deffinatly no collections specialist, and in no way offerd any help, or direction, just rude belittleing insults. How awfull, of a person to act like this when you are trying to resovle an issue there, she think's its a big joke.
