A Nightmare. Our First Stay

To book our first stay there I called them and got a very rude person who rushed me along. I complained and the manager told me that the person who answered the phone was suffering from really bad asthma and forgot her inhaler. So I excused it, because I told the manager that my wife and I were having second thoughts about recommending them and the manager assured me that it was just a fluke.

Then we stayed there. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything and they always seem to have parties or large groups of children or teens there that are unsupervised. Outside of being unable to sleep we found dried human liquid on our sheets. I paid the maid an extra tip with a note saying "Please change all the sheets." Besides not being able to sleep, which is really the purpose of a hotel, we had no further complaints. We should have told our guests to book another hotel at that point.

Next Stay

What really forced my wife and I to switch hotels in the middle of the day after we were all unpacked was when the doorknob fell off. That was the last straw. I told Brookstone about it and instead of maybe giving us a bit of a refund, they wanted to transfer me to another room. So that was it, the nightmare was going to end before our wedding. They didn't give us a refund on the night we didn't stay there either even though we left angry and in the afternoon.

The nightmare didn't end there though. When I went to checkout a man wearing a Brookstone shirt started asking me questions, so I figured he was the manager. I told him my situation and then instead of being sympathetic, he accused me of trying to fraudulently not pay for the night I stayed. Then he said he was the one that fixed the doorknob and it was perfectly fine now. The lady at the front desk was very nice and sympathetic, but this guy was a nut case. When I went to get the remainder of my suitcases the doorknob fell off again, so I gave it to the nice lady at the front desk.
