My children go to the Brandon office( have for past 2 years) and no problem until they changed dentist now for both my children I am having billing issues. They told me the analgesic is not a covered cost for my daughter to use for her filling and its $99. I paid it. Noticed on my dental EOB they didn't even submit the claim to my dental insurance for it to be denied, after calling my insurance, turns out it is covered cost, in fact at 100%. Still waiting on my refund (3 months). So the next month my son has his check up and amazing he needs 2 fillings and I had to prove to them my kids insurance would pay for the gas so I wouldn't have to pre-pay. They let it slide but am still getting bills for this visit, even though my son's insurance paid again at 100%. So not sure what I was thinking I scheduled a new pt exam/cleaning for myself (I do not have insurance)..What a scam. I am 29 and have routine cleanings and no previous mouth/gum/teeth problems. So now I need 3 fillings and 4 crowns. Also said I "might" need route canal but would have to schedule appt with endo to find out and pay another fee to come back for my cleaning. So for $84 all i got was xrays... no one touched my teeth. So after reviewing my xrays they came up with my treatment plan as above and grand total: $7,700. Come on. I went to great teeth to this. Do i have the word Sucker written on my forhead??? Now I question if my kids really had cavities in the first place. The next day i called to schedule with private practice and the price soooo much better, but when I called Dental Group to ask for my xrays I paid $84 to have done .. guess what.. its a $25 charge to pick them up. Anything to get your money.

Dental Nightmare

Went to their Riverview office for filling, my lip was severed in the process and no one provided a reasonable explanation of what happened. I still can't use the side of my mouth where the filling procedure was done because I am experiencing pain. This visit was a total waste of money, and my dental problems have beed exacerbated. I would never go back to this place. i am sooo sorry that I ignored the previous reviews, I was just hoping that my experience would be more pleasant, turned out to be my worst dental nightmare.

milk your insurance company

I had visited this location back in October 2009 and I never realized that dental offices could be this bad. First of all, the Brandon office is filthy. When I sat down the dentist chair, the dentist felt the need to scold the nurse about lunch breaks right behind me where I could listen, not very professional. He then spent maybe two minutes looking at my teeth, mumbled something about brushing then vanished off to lunch.

Another nurse, after analyzing my insurance, approached me and mentioned I needed gum surgery that was going to cost over a thousand dollars. Luckily I got a 2nd opinion from a private practice dentist who said I didn't need gum surgery. I get the feeling they are trying to milk your insurance for as much as possible.

Back in January, Dental Health Group made the national news. At another office in Tampa, Great Expressions / Dental Health Group left an inch long piece of steel in a ladies head during surgery for over a year.

So that's why Dental Health Group is now know as Great Expressions.

Very Poor - Caution

Went there for over two years. This place is a meat market - never expect to see the same person twice. Went there for a cleaning and had no cavities - go six months later and magically have 8 cavities!?

Dentist that found the magic cavities tries to find a reason why....do you eat a lot of sweets? Um, no, I'm not 12 anymore

Do you suck a lot of citrus fruit? Yes, I make it a practice to suck a lemon dry every day. ..puleez!

Seriously, this place is very questionable.

One dentist there recommended ACT as a mouthwash for fluoride treatment. Then the ever knowledgable dental assistant (who had straggly hair and horrid breath) told me that it's just for kids.

Next time you go and are sitting in the examination room - take a look around. This place is unclean - dirt on the floor - you just don't get a comfortable feeling. This office should mainly be used if you're a transient who doesn't have dental insurance or if you just don't care.

The business office at this location either does not understand dental insurance or, more likely, this is an extremely UNETHICAL dental practice. It appears that they attempt to get as much cash from the patient as possible by performing excessive x-rays while claiming that your insurance will cover them. This simply is not the case as most insurance companies will only cover bitewing x-rays. Again, I would prefer to assume that they are merely ignorant regarding insurance issues, but I'm inclined to believe that it is a profit-driven approach that borders on fraudulence.

Strongly caution against using this dental provider.
