One of those ski resorts that advertises its proximity to Boston because its terrain is less than thrilling.. The Scene
The crowd is largely local--lots of students from the lovely New England college town of Henniker--and a few fast drivers from Boston's northern suburbs. There is no nightlife, and while Henniker has a few cozy restaurants, skiers seeking fine food might best look toward Boston.

The Slopes
Pats Peak is just 90 miles from Boston. If you drive really fast, the drive, unfortunately may be the most exhilarating part of the weekend. It's fine for beginners and fun for intermediates. The main attraction is night skiing, which is available Monday through Friday. Snowmaking and grooming have improved.
