Steve's Yard Care

CRIMINAL. Steve did a door to door sales call at my house last fall. It was very late in the evening. I explained to him over and over that I use a different lawn care and that I am cancelling them and going all organic. He proceeded to walk all around my lawn, uninvited, and tell me how poor the current lawn service is doing and that organic will be worse. After a lot of pressure and not going away, I told him that I would call him if I changed my mind, which I won't and never will. I come home from work 6 months later to find 2 men finishing up destroying my lawn and 8 gardens with POISON. No phone calls to confirm, certainly no contract, he just sent them over and left a bill in the door. When I called to discuss it with him he hung up on me. And there is nothing I can do to get the disgusting chemicals off of my lawn or garden. He should be in prison. If you want to use chemicals on your lawn, go with Heartland Lawn Care. They are honest and good people at a great price. I am telling everyone I know to NEVER even open the door to anyone from Steve's Yard Care.…

READ THIS FIRST ! ! Before usings STEVES YARD CARE. I only wish I would have known all of this before I hired this clown and his circus for my lawn care needs. I agreed to specific treatments, yet he, of course did more that I agreed to and then mailed me with a $300 bill. Called repeatedly with harrassing calls to pay him for services that we never agreed to, and threatened to have me sent to a collection agency. DO NOT USE STEVES YARD CARE, in fact TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO NEVER CONSIDER HIS BUSINESS.

Beware of Scam. I thought I was the only one that Steve had ripped off through his unsolicited services. I was shocked to see how many victims he has scammed. Steve has no written contract policy so that he can carry out his unsolicited services. He has a D- rating on the BBB and this was a red flag to stay away. I never checked with the BBB. After my husband passed away I thought I could trust Steve to take over my husband's care of our yard. Steve has sent me bills in the total of $500 for one season of yard care. Most of the work was claimed to be done when I was traveling to visit my grandchildern. I did not think this could happened in Nebraska. I do not know what to do as he has sent me to collections. Has anyone turned him in to be investigated?…

Stay away - 41 Better Business Bureau complaints!. Using Steve's Yard Care was (and is) a nightmare. Through months of unsolicited services why I was away on business, terrible service and even worse results, I tried to reach resolution with Steve to no avail.

I initially agreed to a total of four applications at the begining of the summer to try to jumpstart the lawn of my newly purchased home. I was traveling the majority of the summer and came home to an outrageous bill for services that were completely unsolicited and a lawn that looked worse than what I started with.

Adding to the experience were the unprofessional phone calls, inappropriate language and an overall lack of respect. Stay away; They are dishonest underhanded.

I am at a loss for how else to handle this situation...…
