Must do the chef's choice

My husband and I visited Asheville and did the chef's choice menu at Savoy. We got a sashimi appetizer paired with sake, a fish entree with champagne sauce and caviar paired with wine, and a steak entree with port reduction. It was fabulous. This became our favorite restaurant, and the service is awesome too.

• Pros: Great food, awesome service
• Cons: a little pricey

Savoy Restaurant

If your near Asheville don't miss a chance to enjoy a fabulous meal here. Almost didn't try it beacause of review from gerriandross, I am so glad we did! We were not rushed in any way even though the restaurant was quite busy. Our servers were very knowledgable and unpretentious. The service was acceptional. The food was flavorful as well as beautifully presented. The prices were very resonable for the fantastic food and service.

You might enjoy it if you like being rushed

Savoy touts itself as a "fine dining" experience-- but since the servers seem mostly concerned with quick table turnover, it might as well be some burger joint or pizza parlor. It's a shame you're not allowed to enjoy the creative offerings prepared by the talented chef. Savoy staff doesnt seem to realize the pace of the dining experience plays an important role in customer satisfaction. We hadnt quite decided on our entrees when we were informed that "this table has another reservation on it" and that "the hostess was getting concerned". This was said NOT as we lingered over several cups of coffee at the end of the meal (that's understandable), but just as our appetizers and first glasses of wine were being served! There are lots of great restaurants in Asheville--so unless you enjoy fast food pace at fine dining prices, I would strongly recommend dining elsewhere.
