Luxury at every turn in a charming historic town..
The Scene
This 1890s Victorian was once the home of a Confederate Officer. Its high-pitched twin towers sit atop a hill just three blocks from the Biltmore Estate. The property is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Details
Light from a beveled and leaded-glass window pours onto the first generation oak and walnut walls and stairwell of the massive foyer. The parlor, with its 12-foot ceiling, has a beautifully carved Baroque-style mantle topped with an original beveled glass mirror. The Study, which was formerly the Gentlemen's Room, is equally rich but not as ornate. There are ten luxurious guest rooms and two cottage suites. All have private baths, and some feature Jacuzzi tubs. The cottage is located behind the property and is reached by rambling timber stairs and a gravel pathway. Gourmet breakfast is served in the dining room, and home-baked cookies and desserts are on offer nightly.
