Ok food but over shadowed by bad service!

by MMHV at Citysearch

I have had one good experience out of the 5x's I've eaten there and I really love German food. I lived in Germany and can honestly say that the food is average and will satisfy a hankering, but if you are looking for great food this just isn't the place. I wish it was, but sadly it's not. The waitstaff are rude and very unfriendly. If you are wanting the best German food in the area you should travel to Woodfin to Bavarian restaurant . Doc the owner is from Germany and he uses family recipes and also makes his own sausage. No processed food there and I cannot say the same for Haus Heidelberg.... p.s it needs a good cleaning too!

Best German Restaurant in the SE

by parresian at Citysearch

If you are looking for a great and authentic German dining experience this is the place. We travel from Greenville, SC (only 45 min away) when in the mood and I recommend it to ANYONE looking to get away for a little while. Jaeger schnitzel is highly recommended with a few bottles or drafts of Bittburg beer.

  • Pros: Great Authentic Food
  • Cons: Small parking area

What a great German Restaurant!!

by rgensemer at Citysearch

My wife and were in town to attend a play at the Flat Rock Playhouse and it was around lunch time so we were in sear of a place to eat. There is not much to choose from but we did happen upon the Haus Heidelberg and what a treat! We both had a Wurst served on a delicious soft hoagie bun. The toppings included a suculent curry sauce & onions. I dabbed a bit of German Mustard and was good to go. The sandwich came with roasted German potatoes in a savory sauce. I washed it all down with a draft Hefie. Wow, cannot wait to go back!!

  • Pros: Service, Menu Selection , Beer selection
