I took my family here for lunch on Saturday, May 18. The food was wonderful …. But
The men’s bathroom lacked paper towels – I told the first staff parson I saw – she thanked me – no apology or offer of a towel, though
Our waitress never knew we were short utensils and appetizer plates – we tried momentarily to make eye contact with staff before helping ourselves from a vacant table
Our waitress spilled food on one of my guests – she apologized / stuff happens
Our waitress originally failed to take my order
Our waitress had to be reminded to bring out the meal for one guest (that’s the one she spilled on, by the way)
Because our group included 8, we were in a position that I would have had to disrupt our exit in order to address being automatically assessed a 20% gratuity, so I let it go.
Look, the experience did not ruin our day. I am not trying to make a big deal out of this. I understand things can go badly sometimes (in my business we have our days as well) – I just thought management should be aware of the opportunity for improvement.
Never again! – We had a girls night out at Whiskey Kitchen last week and we all will never go back. The food was good, but the service was horrible and the server had an ATTITUDE! This is Nashville people, not LA. She came up to the table 4 or 5 times and asked us if we wanted our check while a couple of the girls were still drinking. Finally we asked her if she would like us to move somewhere else since she clearly wanted us gone. When we got the check we noticed a 20% gratuity on our table of 6 which would explain the lack of service since she knew she was getting that tip, she treated us as an inconvenience! We asked to speak to a manager to get the gratuity removed since we all agreed she didn't deserve it. The manager removed the gratuity but never asked us why, what she could do to make us happy, etc. I left $20 cash for my tab but now ironically three days later my friend has an additional charge on her card for the amount of my check! It was a horrible experience to say the least and we won't be returning.
Since I posted this review on Yelp, I received a nasty email from an employee posing as a patron in response to this review. Not only are we not going back to Whiskey Kitchen, but they just lost 4 customers to Virago and Lime. Ironic, the same girl did the same thing when someone gave Lime a bad review. "I happen to be at Whiskey Kitchen when the manager came over to the table. I was sitting at the bar with my boyfriend. We both thought that all of you girls at that table were just miserable people to begin with. We could tell this because no one was smiling or even looking like they were having an inch of fun. But the main reason that we noticed your table was that you all sat there forever! Some people, (including my boyfriend and his friends were wanting to sit down and actually order drinks and food. Do us all a favor and don't come back. Stay out in Mt. Juliet and go kick it at an Applebee's for hours. That is probably more your style. Have a great day!"
In response to the bad review for Lime:
I am writing in response to Lauren's review about when she went to Lime with her mother. I think that it is hilarious what she is saying because I was at the booth next to her and her mother and I never saw any of that go down. The situation caught my attention because I saw a female manager high tail it to the table and I was waiting for my joiner, so I was listening to what was being said at there table. The mom never had a allergic reaction, she even told the manager that she was fine. Then I heard the manager say that it wasn't even shrimp, it was lobster. This is way I hate websites like these. Nobody ever tells the truth of what really happened. It's always the servers fault or the bartenders fault. And stories will get blown way out of proportion. In my opinion, Lime is a great place, with a very friendly and professional staff!!
Cute place – This place is the old Agave, and it still looks pretty similar. i've heard good things about it, so I was excited to go.
I went in a group of three. We were seated right away and ordered food. One had a beef wrap, and I got a tuna wrap. They were both very good. The tuna was cooked rare, just right. There were a lot of good things on the menu.
The drinks were strong, almost too strong :) The place had a good scene going on. Mostly just college age kids and young adults hanging out and talking. It may have been a bit loud, but nothing too bad.
Only bad thing I can say is that the tab was way too much. The drinks are overpriced. Our waittress was very good.
Horrible Service – We were told a 45 minute wait and there were 4 groups ahead of us. We waited over an hour and asked how much longer and we were told we were still 4th in line! We watched the hostess seat her friends/regulars ahead of us, and we are sure they didn't have reservations (they don't do reservations on Tues. night) or were on the list ahead of us as we listened to some of the conversations. We left hungry, sober, and dissappointed.
