First of all this restaurant is in the old section of Morehead City by the local docks. There are quite a few restaurants in this area. The decor was bright with interesting paintings done by a local artist. But the prices on the menu are outrageously high for the quality they serve. Though the food is edible, it's just too pricey. My husband had one of the nightly specials - flounder with crab stuffing, spinach ravioli and fresh vegetable - it was quite good. I on the other hand tried a signature shrimp dish that was quite heavy on the sauce that you couldn't appreciate the shrimp. Service is good, but the prices need to come down a bit.

the legendary shrimp and grits of this restaurant are reason enough to visit this restaurant. the wine list is very impressive, and the staff is entirely capable of helping you pick a wine as well as tell you about the daily specials. the space is small, and reservations are a must. i like to order meals to share, including the pizzas (which are great as apps). the prices are a bit steeper than the fried food on the waterfront, but its well worth it
