I love Parker's BBQ and will always find a way to go out of my way to go eat it. Family style is the way to go!
Best Fried & BBQ in North Carolina

I live in Raleigh but my grand parents live in Wilson and since a child I have been going to Parkers BBQ. As an adult I will drive 40 minutes out of my way to go to Parkers BBQ and I bring a crowd with me.
There is something very relaxing and quaint about Parkers. It's nothing fancy on the inside but its like your grandma's house. Very nostalgic and southern surroundings.
The BBQ is vinegar based (the only way it should be mind you) and the portions come in large or small.
Now I can't eat BBQ without friend chicken so you might as well order family style so you can eat as much as you want. If you are by yourself or with a friend then get the combination dinner fried chicken and BBQ. Combination dinners come with corn stick or hush puppies (ask for butter) cold slaw (almost as good as grandmas) and your choice of two sides.
The food is good and the service is southern. Most of the waiters who work there attend Barton college so you are in good hands. The bottom line is if you ever find yourself on 264 make sure you get off 301 and go to Parkers. It will knock your aunt Connie's socks off.
Been a while but is always great!

I live in California now an never get to go to Parker's in Wilson, NC anymore. I can tell you that there is NOTHING that I have ever found that can compare to the food there. The ambiance is simple and the serving staff is young and dedicated and friendly. There used to be several Parker's around not only in Wilson but in Rocky Mount as well. I would love to get back to Wilson and eat at Parker's. When I was there last you only had 2 choices. Large combination or Small combination. Chicken breast for large and chicken thigh for small. All you could eat of cornbread sticks, hush puppies, sole slaw, Brunswick Stew and the best bar-b-que imaginable. Those older folks you see when you eat there are the folks who have been eating there since they were kids. If I had a place like that in Anaheim, it would be packed. You MUST experience the simplicity and greatness of Parker's.
- Pros: Best Carolina Pit Cooked Bar-b-que I can remember
- Cons: I live too far away now to get there.
FIND SOMEPLACE ELSE TO EAT

I posted the review below on Trip Advisor. I also gave the lowest rating possible for your management and staff. Your restaurant had been a fixture for our family for over 20 years. Your current management and staff are arrogant, obnoxious and lack basic business sense. The date was Sunday 6/14/09. The posting below was made on 6/19/09.
Save your time and money. Go someplace else. We were traveling from Baltimore and staying at the Quality inn. Stopped in and placed a large order. Several items were missing when we got to the hotel. When we returned the manager was too busy on the phone with his girlfriend/boyfriend to investigate. The entire front staff started going through thousands of receipts looking for our order. No one got waited on. The time and effort wasted cost much more than the sandwich and fries they forgot to put in the bag.
Save your money and time. EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!

OMG the fried chicken

I ate there last week and still cannot forget the fried chicken. The BEST I have ever had. Hands down. The BBQ is what all others are judged by. The place is packed for a reason. Some of the best southern food I have ever had, and I'm a southerner. Worth the trip from anywhere.
- Pros: The best food. No waitresses. Only waiters in white paper hats and aprons.
- Cons: 42 miles away from where I live
