Didn't Taste like BBQ.
I was on my way home from Charleston and craving some carolina style pulled pork BBQ, So I stopped at Ralph's.
I ordered sweet tea and the buffet. the waitress brought my tea and complimentery hush puppies, both were excellent. The buffet looked very fresh, nothing appeared old and dryed out and everthing I ate tasted fresh.
The issue I have with this meal was the carolina style bbq did not taste like bbq, it tasted like it was baked in an oven, I could't see any of the "bark" that would have been on some pieces of the pork.
I talked to the waitress and asked if was cokked in an oven and she just smiled and didn't answer.…
Best in the State. I grew up eating here and when I come home I always eat here. No matter what. I try to explain to people how great it is but they just don't understand it until they eat here. I have directed many of my friends and co-workers here whenever they are on I-95. They come back and tell me they now make it a habit to go by here on their trips on I-95. It's worth the trip…
Best country cooking buffet anywhere. I generally stay away from buffets because the food is marginal and I'm not a big eater. This place had me going back for thirds. The BBQ pork, fried chicken, homemade biscuits, coleslaw and pretty much everything else was some of the best food I've ever tasted(and my mother could really cook). All this for only $10 plus tip. If your thinking of trying this place be advised that they don't accept credit cards. CASH ONLY. I highly recommend this place.…
the best east carolina bbq anywhere.
this place is awesome. its a buffet - all you can eat.
some warnings: it usually smells weird inside. nothing fancy at all (cafeteria plates) - and its not good for you.
but it rocks: pulled pork and chopped pork are incredible. vegetables are awesome - especially collard greens. Fried chicken rocks.
I live in Texas now (and Texans cant cook to save their life) - but whenever I am on I95 I will go *hours* out of my way to go here. This place is simply the best pork bbq in the world.…
