Gracie Barra Rohnert Park is more than meets the eye.
by HectorJR
I have always been very intrested in going into some form of martial arts. I never would have expected myself doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but I don't regret it. I myself have just recently started two weeks ago and am on my third week and I love it. A very close friend of mine introduced me to the establishment a couple months ago and i was very intrigued. He told me that "we are like a family. We help each other when we are in need, we have each others back and it changes us for the better" Its really like a family. Their motto "Organized like a team, fighting like a family." They couldn't have picked a better motto. Honestly I felt like I have been there already for longer than I was. Imeddiately accepted into the family, they worked step by step on showing me everything that needed to be done. Very patient and in the long run they want to see you succeeded. I don't feel like a stranger when I'm in the there. Accepted. I already feel so much better in this class and I highly reccommend anyone to go check it out and give a shot. You live only once, might as well try new things. I am proud to say that I am a member of the Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu family and I'm glad my friend Alex showed me this awesome place.

Best Martial Arts Academy
by White Belt Kelly
I have been interested in Martial Arts since I was a kid. After an accident that left my ankle damaged, I realized that I probably didn't have the balance for stand up style martial arts. On the way to the bank in Rohnert Park, I spotted Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu Academy. I was apprehensive to enter because I was worried about typical martial arts attitude and intimidation. My concerns were put to rest immediately. I was greeted by Coach Lindsay in a Pink Gi no less. She quickly introduced me to Professor Bill, who explained the Gracie Barra way of life and set up a free introduction class for my son, my wife and myself. That was 11 months ago and our family has now become part of the Gracie Barra Family. We all look forward to our training and have all improved our Cardio, Strength and Flexibility. I am amazed at how fast the one hour training sessions go by. The training has also been a great way of reducing stress and improving the over quality of my life. I have lost 25 lbs. over the last 11 months as well. So if you are looking for a Martial Arts Academy, with a terrific philosophy, a fantastic Leader, super positive coaches (Mike,Paul,Kyle,Elliot, Sam and Lindsay) and staff, and a great facility, you need to come down to the Academy and visit. I guarantee that you will feel welcome.
Great place for the whole family to train
by Jake S
I've been training here for about a year and a half and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I'm not an exercise junkie by any means, but training BJJ at Gracie Barra is legitimately as fun as it is a great workout. The environment is amazing, none of the egos that kept me away from gyms in the past. Instead there's a laid-back, respectful family atmosphere. I ride the bus an hour or more just to train and it's worth every minute. Also, these days you see a lot of dojos with questionable practices/qualifications - some instructors don't even tell you who awarded them their belt or in what. That's absolutely not the case here, Professor Bill is a world-class black belt with unquestionable credentials. I'd highly recommend the free introductory class for anybody with any interest in martial arts, regardless of age (the kids classes are great and the fundamentals/advanced program are very age-friendly, from teenagers to seniors).
