Great Vegetarian Selection and Pho – I loved this place. I am on a strict vegetarian diet and decided to go here because of a friendly recommendation. I got the Vegetarian Pho and it was amazing. It came with fresh mint, cilantro, and jalapenos on the side if you like to spruce it up a bit. The portion was huge and tasty. My wife got the soft noodle tofu and imitation chicken dinner and that was great too. I would avoid the imitation chicken though, it tasted like fat. However, the stir fried tofu was great! I cant wait to go back and try more food.
Pretty good, but not awesome. – I had dinner there with a bunch of friends and the service was quick and efficient. Also, they didn't give us any problems with splitting the check between 8+ people since you pay at the register.
My boyfriend got pho and he said it was not the best he's had, but certainly not the worst. The menu is quite large and in addition to Vietnamese food, they've got a large Thai section. Most of the people at my table got pad thai and they really liked it. I got the basil beef and while it was tasty, it was basically seasoned beef with sauteed onions served with steamed rice. Good, but I would have liked the dish better if it was served with some vegetables.
I also ordered the fresh spring roll and was surprised by how large it was. Unfortunately, the roll wasn't as flavorful as other rolls I've had at other Vietnamese restaurants. I wouldn't order it again.
Also, there's an aquarium with a large fish in it. The fish (not very attractive, IMO) seems too big for the tank. It was a depressing view while I waited for my supper.
Go for the Pho – Tried this out when our 'usual' Vietnamese place was closed on a holiday. Located in a little strip mall, this restaurant was filling up quickly with a variety of clientele. Wife and I split an order of crispy spring rolls. (Note the appetizer crispy spring roll was only one roll...I'm used to two.) I had the meatball noodle soup and my wife tried a vegetable stir-fry. Looking around, about 75% of the patrons were eating Pho of some variety. My soup was excellent and came with all the usual fixings including fresh cilantro which I had never tried with Pho before.
The inside of the restaurant is a little bit beat up, but not too bad. We figured they get a lot of college student business. We noticed an interesting nautical wallpaper boarder along the ceiling which got us thinking of what kind of restaurant this was previously. Condiments stay on the table (hoisin, hot sauce, chili paste, mustard, ketchup) and except for the chili paste were in squeeze bottles. I would have preferred they were served with the meal.
I'd go back. Pay at the register.
