Thank you for your help!.
I had an interesting/mostly-positive experience this morning as my kitty became the newest patient at Thomasville Veterinarian Hospital.
I was given the recommendation from a family member who has lived in Thomasville for years (20+) and by the numerous reviews I've read online. I took a chance and I was pleased with most of what I saw and how I was treated.
That being said, there are three things I would like to see changed before I return.
1) The front office staff, while generally very helpful and considerate (Thank you, Misty!), did have a bit of a personality conflict.
It seemed to be localized to one individual and that is unfortunate because it brings the entire professional vibe of customer service down. It could have been a low-blood sugar issue, but if a client notices, there is an issue to address.
Also, when billing, make sure that where the line item for check number is requested, you actual use the check number and not the amount. That's just confusing for the Accountant and the client.
2) I was told at the time of my appointment that I would be allowed to stay with my pet. That was half-correct.
During the fecal and CBC panel, I was left waiting in an examination room. I wish someone would have spoken to me sooner as I was waiting. But, that is my personal preference.
I was, however, present for the wellness exam and was offered a thorough explanation of how to make the life of my kitty better. So, Thank you Dr. Cecil for taking the time and seeing that my questions were answered. It was very professional of you and much appreciated.
3) The general look about the lobby and exam rooms leads me to believe that this is more of a 'doggie' place than a 'kitty' place.
I realize that cat people are finicky by nature but when I can hear gossip taking place outside the exam door or throughout the lobby while I am waiting patiently, I wonder about who's watching over my animal.
Also, I expect a higher-level of sanitation. Although, it could have been much worse...it can always smell and look better! (There was puke in the parking lot I had to step over when I got out of my car...ew!)
So, where I would have rated my experience a 3 stars, I opted for 4, given that Dr. Cecil was exceptional! If only the whole staff had that level of care at their heart's center. This could really be an exceptional practice.
Thank you Dr. Millerin for being available to help out with the blood draw! I know your gentle touch calmed a skittish kitty at a stressful time. Arty is happy to be home and I am happy she is healthy and safe!
Best Regards,
Jennifer…
Dog Mom in distress. My pet has been a patient for several years. Having been healthy, receiving her shot, grooming through Pet Center (satelitte hosp); however, when an emergency arose....well.......they jumped all over it.....telling me what she needs. When I asked about expense (which makes you feel bad), the Dr excused herself to speak to office manager and came back with an offer to hook me up with a finance company! What they were saying is that they could help my dog, but if I couldnt pay the bill in full at time of service........here's a finance company...I have been a customer for several years and at NO given time have I ever NOT paid my bill....in a matter of minutes the bill went from $250 to $500. So when I asked if I could make payments....thats when the finance company came in to play..I specfically said "so you are telling me you can save my dog, but because I cannot pay the bill in full now my only alternative is to put her down".........the doctor and assistant just stood there and looked at me......we can offer you reference to our finance company........For the pet...NO...For the $..YES........having this experience makes me really miss my retired vet Dr. Thomas McNeil....HE MADE HOUSE CALLS!!!!…
HAD BEEN CUSTOMER FOR YEARS. I had been a customer of this doctor before he had any other doctors with him. I think he is one of the best veterianarians in the triad. However, I did leave him because of the way I was treated by his "staff". That is a shame, but I have to look at the whole picture - if his staff is hateful to me, then how do they treat my animals when I am not there with them??…
Very Caring Staff. I have used this Veterinary Hospital for more than 15 years and have always been pleased with the treatment my animals received. They have been there for me thru new puppies and kittens and deaths of my dear old four legged family members. They are a great group of folks!…
The worst vet i have found yet. this was the worst vet office i have ever been to. I had just got a new puppy and only had him a week. for some reason he tuned up sick. I did not have a vet yet so i though i would try this one and then continue taking my puppy there for future shots, treatments, ect.. but it turns out it was offal. the doctor acted like he was in such a rush he couldnt explain nothing to me. he talked over me very fast and didnt even bother to explain anything. he checked my dog for worms and he didnt have any and then checked for parvo and said he didnt have any signs of that either. he ended up giving me a $100 worth of medicine for an upset stomach. That would have been fine if that would have really been what was wrong with him. i take my sick puppy home and pump all this medicine into him for two days an he continues to get worse until he got really stiff and wouldnt eat at all. At this point i was really worried and i took him to another vet. gladly, the other vet took the time to check out my puppy throughly and found out that he did have parvo. If the doctor would have just taken his time and really checked my puppy he wouldnt have to have had to suffer and almost die. I will never return to this vet again because of the poor service and money hungry people. for anyone who is looking for a very good vet for there pets i would suggest dr. smuck at the North Davidson Vet. He cares about your animals and wont over charge you just to make a dollar.…
