Biggest disappointment in a long time!. I had been drooling over the opportunity to visit Lexington #1 for weeks and when the big day finally occured I felt the wind go out of my sails BIG TIME. I was sorely disappointed in the Que and even moreso the slaw. I will have to say that if this is a contender for the best Western NC style Que then I will stick with a mediocre version of Eastern NC Que any day.

The service was nothing to get excited about and the food was even less so.

I have been eating Que for some 65+ years and this doesn't even make the bottom of my list of favorites.

Smokehouse- Hot and Tangy Barbeque Sauce- What a Treat!. My dad loved this place. He brought me back some of their "Smokehouse" bottled sauce and i just love it. I am trying to find a way to order some more. It is a different sauce then we use in Kentucky, but "wow", it sure is tasty. Please do yourself a favor and give it a try.

Not impressed with NC BBQ. I am new to NC Barbecue, not very impressed. I cannot believe people like this place, in vast numbers. Very weak tasteless sauce. pickle juice slaw, very poor dry hamburger, one of the worst burgers my wife has eaten. Canned beans.

And last but not leats NO RIBS

I still cannot so many people go to eat there. Give me Texas or Memphis anyday

ALL IN ALL, NOT GOOD FOR US!. Three of us had the chopped coarse pork. It was dry. The portion was average in size. Liked the BBQ sauce and the slaw.

The service was excellent, and we had fun at this "landmark" BBQ joint.....until we got home when all of us were sick in the evening from what we ate. I won't go into the details, but it's not the kind of sick you get from the food being too spicy. We are all veterans of spicy Mexican, Thai and BBQ.

Wish I could say more positive things about our visit considering how nice the people were, and knowing it's probably not always like this. But this was our experience, and we will not be going back

Simply Great. Have never found a better BBQ (pork) sandwich. I have to stop in when passing through Lexington, if for a quick bite to eat, or to take a pound with me on the road.
