What People Are Saying About Panera Bread

In Short – Bright colors and comfortable furniture give this chain cafe a laid-back feel, with scattered tables that beckon coffee-sipping readers, chatters and diners. All baked goods--bagels, muffins, two dozen kinds of bread--are made fresh on the premises. Sandwiches include turkey-artichoke panini and Asiago roast beef, plus standards like chicken salad and smoked turkey. Soups change daily, but popular choices like broccoli and cheese, chicken noodle and French onion are always on the menu.
Editor's Tips
- The Extras:
- Most locations offer free Wi-Fi; call for more information.
- Know Before You Go:
- Through Operation Dough-Nation, cash donations made at any Panera location are matched with fresh bread or cash and distributed to local nonprofit organizations.
- Save Time:
- Aside from fresh-baked goods, Panera also offers dipping oils and sauces, salad dressings and whole-bean coffees to take home.
Ridiculously poor value ~ abysmal management

The "kid's meal" consisted of a SINGLE slice of bread with about 1 ounce of meat & a yogurt tube -- for the insane price of $3.99--no beverage, no cookie. Bear Rock Cafe offers a FULL sandwich, chips, drink & fruit cup for the same price. When we expressed our disappointment to BOTH managers, they simply shrugged & said "that's what we offer". This kid's meal would not nourish a 2 year old!! Any reasonable manager, eager to appease a valued customer, would immediately make amends or offer to "comp" the child a pastry/cookie. Not here. The sandwiches are ridiculously over-priced as well--we will not support this establishment...shame on them for such poor management practices.

Probably the best sour dough in the area, although not as good as traditional San Francisco sour dough. The sandwiches are good but a little expensive. Atmosphere is great.
- Pros: good bread
- Cons: expensive
