Will I ever get my dress?

When I went bridal mart, i had a pretty good experience. There was a wide selection an variety of dresses and the prices on most of them were pretty good. Word of caution, if you're looking for the private attention and experience of a boutique, this place is not for you. Nonetheless, the lack of personal attention was not my concern. My greatest concern is that I purchased my dress on July 7th. I was told it would arrive on October 5th and that someone would call me. I called on Oct. 9th and was told my dress had no arrived. No big deal for it to be 4 days late. The lady said she would call the next Monday. The next Wednesday after receiving no call. I called back again, the lady put me on hold "went in the back" to look for my dress told me it wasn't there and said she would call be the next Monday. At this point I'm slightly perturbed. Today is October 28th, 23 days after my gown should have arrived. I called there today and was told that the dress shipped on this past Monday and will arrive next Monday. I explained to the associate what had occurred and that everyone seemed very apathetic about my dress being a month late. She "assured" me that people were very concerned and that their dress order person called the gown company and the company was very apologetic. Despite their "concern" no one has called me in almost a month and had I not called them I doubt I would have received any updates from them as of yet. My wedding isn't until next June so it is honestly not a big deal for my dress to be late, but if you give someone a deadline, you should keep it and if something happens where you can't keep it, you should definitely keep in contact with that person. So, if your wedding is 5 months away or less, I don't recommend buying a dress from them unless you're going to get it right off the rack and take it home with you then and there. I pointed out to the lady that my dress will likely need alterations which can also take 2-3 months and her reply was that they do alt. Why would I want the same people who were apathetic about my dress being a month late to alter it too?
- Pros: Wide Variety, lower Prices
- Cons: Been waiting 4 months for my dress
PLEASE DON'T GO TO BRIDAL MART!!!

I am hoping this review will keep at least one bride from making the same mistake I did by buying my dream dress from Bridal Mart in Burlington, NC. Yes, I agree... I thought Bridal Mart was awesome, but saving some money is not worth having your wedding dress ruined by a bunch of amateurs claiming to be professionals! I bought a premier collection and paid extra for them to spend 40 minutes measuring me so the dress would arrive fitted. I was told 14-16 weeks when ordered in Oct 08. After 16 weeks I kept calling them and calling them and they didn't know why the dress wasn't ready. It finally came in after 18 weeks and it was over 2 inches too long!! With a lot of back and forth they finally admitted they measured me wrong, but told me it was too late and there was nothing I could do. Due to their lack of response with 6 weeks before my May wedding (3 month after the dress originally came in - that long of arguing!!) I missed out on ordering any of my accessories because they had my paid in full dress!! They then tried to correct their mistakes by creating more problems by taking it in too much and pulling it up too high. They won't return calls, they just don't care! They even cut the bottom lace of my wedding gown to try to shorten it and left the cuts hanging out at the end of my train... and then denied it was from them!! Having your dream dress ruined is not worth saving a few bucks... even if it was hundreds!! Not only do we have to go to court, but I can NEVER get my wedding memories replaced. They not only took my money, but they stole the one thing every bride should have on their wedding day... to feel beautiful!
I wish I could share pictures to prove to you how terribly they ruined my dress! You would be shocked that they would even try to argue... which may be why they avoid calling people back!
- Pros: Tons of dresses to choose
- Cons: They don't care about their customers
Definitely go there!

I had a major issue with the dress I got at David's Bridal, so I needed a dress PRONTO! I contacted an online store and paid $100 for rush shipping, only to have them call me a week later to tell me my dress would not be ready until the day before my wedding. That wouldn't work. My wedding is in August. It's July. I decided to check out Bridal Mart. The problem I've been having is that I'm a Plus Sized Gal and no one seems to carry plus sized dresses. I guess dress designers think we are too fat to get married? Not sure. Anyway, the staff at Bridal Mart, particularly Ms. Pam, were very helpful! I found a BUNCH of dresses in my size and tried on 6 of them and finally decided on the first one I tried on. It was an Alfred Angelo and $140 cheaper at Bridal Mart than I had found online. I recommend going! The dressing room does leave you vulnerable, so make sure you are prepared to have flashbacks of changing for gym class in high school in front of all of the hot young girls with perky chests.
- Pros: SOOO Many Dresses! Plus Sizes! Buy the same day!
- Cons: open dressing room, reminded me of gym class in high school
