Nothing but aggrivation and crap – Clearwire is nothing but aggrivation and crap. We had it in Jacksonville and it was terrible. constantly lossing the signal. E-mail programs didn't work at all. Then when we tried to quit they attempted to charge us $200 even though they couldn't provide services. They had the nerve to charge me $200 to quit the service. They are sharks and snake oil. Clark you should be embarrassed to even mention them!!!!!!
No increases Ever!!! – So far it's fantastic. It works really well in my condo, and I'm now using it at work for the first time, and it's coming through great. I just got the mobile, and that'll do me just fine for $45 a month, no taxes, no increases ever!
I’ve been a clearwire user for almost two years, thank god it’s almost over, HORRIBLE service, and of course you gotta love yur internet being throttled….wow I love that feature.
The technical support of Clear is good. They answered quickly with literally no on-hold time. Their native tongue was American English, and they spoke it very clearly and understandably. Not like robots. Anyway, the problem has been resolved and clear internet service really is the best so far.
Be careful with clear. I signed up for a month to month contract with clear when they first came to Atlanta (and got a special deal) and when I initially tried to cancel in the first 30 days (their service was great where it worked and horrible where it doesn't) they gave me discounts to stay. When I finally did give up and try to cancel, they told me I'd have to "buy out my 2 year contract". I didn't agree to a 2 year contract but that's what they changed me to and kept stating "you agreed to a 2 year contract". No I didn't. Then Clear used bully style tactics to try and extort money out of me that I am refusing to pay. If not resolved properly, I will file a State Attorney General complaint for deceptive practices. The rep also argued with me as to where their service works. Great tactic for someone already irritated at the service. Unless you're just using it at home, don't even bother. And if you're in your first 30 days, be careful. They'll try to use your 30 days to "Get a technician out". Then don't be surprised if you get a surprise 2 year contract that they want you to buy out. Lovely business practices. Their comment, "you can't have it in writing, we're a paperless company". The only thing they will send you is an email confirming your plan. Check it carefully. Bait and switch seems to be their tactic on your plan!!!
I signed up for Clear on Monday and have been using it without complaint since. So far I'm really liking it. My connection speed is the one that is $30/month, it's pretty fast. I haven't tried downloading anything yet, but youtube streams and generally surfing seem to be going well.
From there you can put in your address and see if you'd have coverage. I talked with a Clear rep at Best Buy when I was signing up for it and getting my modem, they are setting up and activating towers all over town. There are parts of Portland that don't have coverage yet, but will be getting it soon.
I signed up for Clear and was really disappointed. I live right downtown a block from the Willamate and my signal was either really bad, getting dropped, or both. I really wanted it to work. I worked with there tech support for hours but in the end they through in the Towel and admitted that Clear is a work in progress. Unfortunately, after the trial period your contract is not a work in progress and you are locked in. I got out before that. But that's just my experience. It good to see some people are happy with Clear. I really wish it could of worked out for me.
Well i still love it still getting crazy speeds better than when i had AT&T
