Poor restaurant

by dyablo at Citysearch

The hotel itself is beautiful. Bartenders were top notch. The waitress was young and inexperienced, but I think she did a good job with the mess that was being sent out from the kitchen. two orders of seared Fois Gras were both over done. Friends duck was cooked to death also. Had to send that back. I ordered bouillabaisse and got the thick heavy cream sauce that tasted/looked like a Stroganoff, not the light saffron tomato broth as the menu described. it was so thick that If I scooped some up with my fork and turned it over it would just stick there. Others in our party complained of cold food. Like I said the server tried to make up for it but she was getting no help from kitchen. They need to clean house in the retaurant (kitchen) and start fresh.

Best Hotel in New York Allegria Long Beach

by Moonman82 at Citysearch

This hotel sits right on the Atlantic Ocean up against the Long beach Boardwalk (2.2 miles long).

The beach is very deep with plenty of room and sand like fine white sugar.

The hotel is open 365.

The hotel has all the emenities you could ask for.

The bar is several feet away from the boardwalk and at sunset you look right and see an unforgetable image.

The staff is friendly and can't do enough for you.

Remember to book early since the swimming and beach season is only 10 weeks long. June through September. Thats 20, Friday and Saturday nights.

The price is lower Sunday through Thursday of course.

There is surfing, Beach Tennis Tournaments, boogie boarding, fishing, jogging, biking, volleyball swimming, bikini watching and many other things to do on the beach.

Enjoy we always do...

No Way Jose!

by VinnyB at Citysearch

This place was not in any way what the few positive reviews say it is.

I found the staff to be rund and inexperanced and the food to be mediocre at best.

I found this place to have high prices and low quality in their service

And to add to this, the price they get for parking was ridiculous

Chef Gordon Ramsey would have had a heart attack if he saw t

by CeeQue at Citysearch

Let me start by saying something nice, this place is absolutely beautiful especially the outside of this hotel where it has beautiful lighting somewhat like a Las Vegas resort. (I'm sure the people living near by wouldn't agree)

But there is where the nice part ends. I have not stayed at the hotel but have eaten at their restaurant twice, the second time was a bigger disappointment than the first.

Yes the place is decorated beautifully. It has the look of a luxury resort. However, the management and staff are absolutely lacking in customer service. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it sure was evident during my experiences there both times. .

The first time I was very impressive by the looks of the room, it was flashy (perhaps a bit over-done, but flashy never the less) . We were a of four, and each one of us complained, not only once, twice, or three times but constantly, throughout our dining experience. If it wasn’t one thing, it was another the service was truly poor to the extent of being laughable. After waiting for almost an hour, I was finally served my salad which was not at all what the menu indicated. Instead of the ingredients listed on the menu, all I got was grilled chicken and romaine lettuce. Not even one drop of dressing. After complaining, I waited another 20 minutes before I got the run of the mill ordinary store bought dressing. The small order of fish was dry and much too much overcooked. With one glass of wine each, the bill, for two, came out to $125. Before the tip. We would have been better off going to the diner on the main street of Long Beach, our meal would have been more enjoyable and much cheaper. The waitress was young , and inexperience as the rest of the help there seemed to be and obviously not responsible for what was coming out of the kitchen. However, everyone was complaining to her. I actually felt bad that everyone was taking out their frustration on her. I don’t think I saw a happy customer there as far as the eye could see!! Chef Gordon Ramsey would have had a heart attack if he saw the service here.

It’s such a shame, I’m sure there was big time bucks put into this place. . Hopefully, in time, they will get their act together. But for now, in summary head to your local diner for a better dining experience

BEST NIGHT EVER WITH FRIENDS

by Sandy1991 at Citysearch

I recently had a surprise 40th for my husband at the Allegria, and it was STUPENDOUS. I don't even know where to begin...

The fireplace area was fantastic & beautiful! My guests loved the area. Thought it was a great choice.

The service & staff were MARVELOUS. The servers were conscientious, quick, thorough, & one step ahead of my thoughts. We never had to wait for a drink. They were constantly asking or serving. The hors d'eouvers were delicious! My guests raved about how tasty, and of course, the quantity. I was told they would constantly be passed around, and the servers did a great job of that! Everyone was full by the end of the night..and on hors d'eourvers!!

I had several pregnant, including me, women, and those that do not drink at my party, and what a special touch to have a specialty menu of non-alcoholic drinks. My guests were THRILLED, and thought it was thoughtful & personal touch.

We brought in our own dessert, however, the servers did a great job of tiering the cupcakes, which was a great idea. They even had candles (which I forgot)!!

I truly believe you get what you pay for. And we got all that, AND more from hotel! I can't help, but RAVE to everyone what a MEMORABLE night the hotel helped us have!!!!
