Homestead Garden Apartments

Ripped Off. I lived here for 6 months in 2011 in a two bedroom / two bathroom unit. The community is very quiet and offers affordable prices. It is great to have internet and cable tv included - you won't find this anywhere else. It is very convenient to have a washer and dryer in the unit - another rarity in Rapid City. I was very happy living in the community for the entire duration, however, after moving out, I have never felt more ripped off! On my move out day, I left the apartment much cleaner than when I moved in. Even when I turned in my keys, I asked the apartment manager if she would like to take a look before I left. She said it was not necessary. Well, about two weeks later, I received my security deposit back, but only a very small portion. When I called to find out why, I was informed that I was supposed to have the carpets professionally cleaned and I failed to clean underneath the oven and washer and dryer. Ridiculous! I asked the manager to double check and she said she would call me back, but she never did call me back and I am simply out the money. If you decide to live here, be very careful when you move out to make sure you don't get nickeled and dimed like I did. What a bad taste this left!…
