The Worst Service.... EVER!

Hands down the WORST of the overpriced, just-OK food, crappy-service restaurants that the Hamptons breads with it’s lack of competition. The all around arrogance and passionless cooking that lives out East is alive and thriving at the Lodge. First, experience (the abridged version)… my girlfriend goes over the Holidays they give her credit card to the wrong person, ok, this happens, but then the next day as she’s franticly trying to get it back and the manager is unreachable the owner gets on the phone and proceeds to yell and scream at her because she’s was desperately trying to speak to the manager who was familiar with the situation. Not sure if he was loaded or what but the whole thing was just weird. After her 2 day epic struggle to regain her credit card, they don’t comp her meal but rather give her a gift card… awesome.

Fast-forward to the summer. We return ONLY to use said gift card. Order a big meal and some wine. Food’s Ok, basically on the level of decent Manhattan bar food. The bill comes, they charged me for the wrong bottle of wine… for a normal restaurant, this is a no-brainer, discount the difference, get on with life. Oh but not at the Lodge….. GIFT CARD. The manager wants to give us another gift card. What is it with this place and their gift cards. We explain to the manager that we’re only there to use a gift card and certainly don’t want another one. He then became agitated and forced his $20 gift card on us which we proceeded to give to someone in the parking lot. Bottom line, I have NEVER experience service like this, it was absolutely shocking and appalling. The owner & manager have issues, the whole thing was bizarre to say the least. Consider yourselves forewarned.
