LOVE IT!!.
You guys knocking LA fitness are just a bunch of cry babies!! Gee, sales people putting pressure on you....how odd!
I love this place and actually left the Executive Club to join this gym. The sales team is VERY friendly, have a LOT of energy and will stop at nothing to help you reach your goals. I will tell you this, not come to this gym if you are weak at heart, they are gonna KICK YOUR A** to get you where you want to be!! I have been working out 3 days a week with a trainer for the last 10 month but have never felt this good. Allen, Karl and the entire team ROCK!!
Pressuring my friends isn't cool.
I have been a member of LA Fitness for over a year and have used it off and on, and they have many great amenities, but they are relentless and rude when it comes to sales and harassed me over the phone when my credit card needed to be updated, to the point where they were calling at least daily.
I was given several guest passes when I joined, and have never once brought a friend with me until this weekend. I wanted my boyfriend to join me for yoga and he was eager to try a formal class. As soon as I walked in and scanned my card and let the desk clerk know I had a guest with me for yoga, she told us there was a $15 charge and whistled for one of the sales guys to come harass my boyfriend.
The idiot charged over and immediately asked my boyfriend if he was thinking about joining. Since my boyfriend is military and will be deploying shortly, and also has access to free gym facilities on base, we informed him that no, he was just joining me for yoga this morning. The sales guy then told us, "That's the wrong answer, you're supposed to say you are thinking about joining, that is why we let you visit." I corrected the young sales twit by reminding him of the many hundreds of dollars I have paid to be a member, he then lied to us by telling us the class was full, which it wasn't and never has been on Sunday mornings.
I still don't get it, they want to charge someone $15 to visit with a guest who is already paying??? I thought visits were supposed to be free. Needless to say I paid nothing and also needless to say, I will not be bringing any of my friends back to be harassed this way. Idiots!
Caution.
Be careful when talking with the sales people. They give you the high pressure sales pitch. They pretty much bully you into buying. They also violate the state law by requiring payment before you can look at the agreement.
Additionally, they ignore the three day buyer's right to cancel law. I had to contact the Washington Attorney General to get them to return my money. This is after several letters, phone calls, and emails. I even quoted the law to them, but they ignored me. They are not very honest or ethical business people.
