Excellent food and service. I have to agree with Jmsds that the head chef/owner of Colleens is a bit unorthodoxed in how he does business, but by no means should that be taken as unprofessional or that he doesn't care. I had my parents 50th anniversary here and Chef Les went above and beyond. People raved about the food and the table service was perfect. The girls were polite and very helpful. We ran out of deserts (that we brought) and they actually went into the back, pulled out deserts from the kitchen and didn't charge us for it! The cocktail hour food was off the charts! Unethical Owner who overbooks events!. The Owner/Chef over books events on the same day. He has no banquet manager, does not work with a contract and can never remember details as discussed for your event. We forced the issue of getting a contract for our child's communion party, with all event details listed and still our banquet room was given away even with two contracts in place. We asked to place a deposit and he declined stating he doesn't do business that way and a hand shake was good and we were in his book for that date. We were never notified until the night before the event, even after repeated phone calls over months going over the details for the events. The only reason we found out we were not in a banquet room was because we walked in to deliver something for the party the next day. Only solution offered was for the same money per head to hold our event in the dirty, dated, dark bar of the facility instead of one of the two banquet rooms which was listed on our contract. This was totally unacceptable and we had to cancel the party at 5pm the night before and make other plans. Owner/Chef claimed he wasn't going to make money on our event so he booked a wedding for same date with conflicting times knowing he was forcing us to be without a room. He didn't notify us so we would be forced to hold the party there since we had no other options b/c it was the day before the event. He didn't care if we canceled and he offer no solutions other than holding the event in the bar. This was a child's communion luncheon for 50+ people and a dark bar was not a proper venue for this type of event. The owner is extremely unprofessional and disorganized. He promises the world then can't delivery. He sells you the banquet room but has no intention of giving it to you if something more profitable comes along, thus the no contract. He gives you the run around until he gets final numbers and then goes with the party where he makes the most money, with no disregard or concern for those of us he has overbooked. We know of another couple which the same thing happened to them but they were given two weeks notice of the banquet room cancellation and had the same offer of the bar. BEWARE OF BOOKING HERE.
