In Short – Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.

- If you're not a fan of Foster's, try another Australian beer: Newcastle Brown Ale.

Ate there about 18 mos ago, and it was perfect.
Ate there about 5 mos ago, and it was horrible.
I'm not a picky eater, by far. Put me in front of a frozen pizza, and I'm happy. However, the last time we went, it was pathetic. Food was not good, and the portion sizes were half the size of Texas Roadhouse, but cost almost double.
Hopefully we were just there on a bad night. If we weren't so happy with our initial visit, I don't think we'd never go back.
