Dr. Coll and her staff are caring and compassionate

by namjkpower

Dr. Coll and her staff have taken care of my pets for years. They never make you feel rushed and answer all of your questions. They are very caring and compassionate. They obviously love their jobs because all the staff has been there a long time.

My dog had skin infections for years and they were the first ones to figure it out! She has not had skin problems since. Dr. Coll took the time to explain all the possible causes, the tests we could do and medicine my Zoey would have to take. When I call, the staff knows so much that they can answer most of my questions, if not they will check with Dr. Coll

Even when I have had money troubles, she is willing to work with me on doing what is most important first with what I can afford. Her prices are well worth it.

My dog runs to greet Julie, Kristie and Michelle whenever we go in. We LOVE it there

Overpriced Care for your pet

by Riley1800

I have read others reviews and while I agree the care is adequate, it comes with a big price. People often don't price compare one vets charges vs. another, but I think they should. Dr. Coll's prices are too high. She even charges for nail trimming $5.00, unlike many vets that do it free of charge when your pet is seen for a routine visit. Another example, her cost to spay a dog is crazy, @$250.00, when you could go to c-snip or spay/neuter express and pay $65.00.

Further, Dr. Coll does not work a full work week, leaving you to make other arrangements. My dog was sick on a Tuesday afternoon, but when I called the office at 3:45, they told me Dr. Coll wasn't there on Tuesday afternoons. Instead, they referred me to an emergency animal hospital where I would be charged an "emergency rate", I instead took her to my former vet and paid a fair price. Sidenote: I changed vets due to moving (he is out in Lowell), but even with the cost of gas, he is much cheaper and gives exceptional care. He provides emergency service 24hrs. a day, 7 days a week.

My advice, shop around and price compare vets. We all want a kind, compassionate and competent vet, but also one that is fairly priced and available.

Great Service if you can afford the price

by citizen2342

After being coldly told that my dog needed expensive care ($4000) or to be put down - "what is your decision?" I walked out to discover that I could get the same care for 1/5 the price($800) not too far down the road. I was very disappointed with the "bedside manner" when our dog was ill. They had been great when she was healthy.

Walking out of the Chicago Drive Veterinary Clinic was the best decision I've made in a long time.

What a great place

by rjmiles7

I've been using Chicago Drive Vet. clinic for almost 10 years. Dr. Coll always listens to me and gives me detailed explainations about isses with both my dogs and cat that I can easily understand.

I've seen Dr. Coll make a house call when my elderly neighbor's large dog got so old she couldn't get up and walk. Large dog, weak elderly person; I was delighted to see Dr. Coll pull up in next door driveway when my neighbor needed help with her dog.

Dr. Coll not only knows what to do to help my animals and keep them healthly, she's always sensitive to my financial concerns and trys to keep cost to a minimum. The staff at the clinic has for the most part, stayed the same since I've been there. They know my animals, they are always willing to listen and help, they are all delightful and helpful. Great Vet clinic!

  • Pros: Well run, great people, good with animals, knowledgable

Best vet in the area

by Westra7008

I have been using this clinic since I have lived in the area which is about 18 years. I have always felt my pets are in the best care possible. Dr. Coll goes above and beyond and her staff also.

They are kind, caring and compationate. The even thought to send me a flower delivered to my home when one of pets passed away. I have and alway will trust her judgement completely.

I have had many pets over the years and Dr. Coll always takes care of us right away and tells me her honest opinion as they age, even when you don't want to hear it , she has a gentle and loving way of breaking it to you.

I have referred others to Chicago Dr. Vet also and all are happy.

The groomer next door (Debbie Jo) is super also.
