Beware

I believe that Rob (the owner) is knowledgeable but he doesn't over-see what his help is doing.
$5,000 for a rebuilt engine and transmission. It ran very rough, he said it needed other parts... more money. I said no more money.
After a short time our truck would only go in reverse. Sold it to a friend who assured me that it was probably something minor that was over-looked.
He towed it away and returned the next day driving it. When Rob (or whoever) bolted the transmission up they did it wrong. It cost our friend nothing to get this vehicle running correctly.
In the end, we gave Rob $5,000 to put an engine and transmission in our truck, he couldn't get it running unless we gave him MORE money. We sold it to someone for $400 who got it running for $0
That Rob is quite a guy.
If you think this story is uniquie....think again.
Rude, cheap owner has no interest in customer satisfaction.

They rebuilt my transmission at a cost of $1500, which seems ok now. First off, the owner (Rob) doesn't return calls when you have questions. They have a big sign that says they specialize in transmissions, but the (ONLY) guy that rebuilds for them only comes in at night for a few hours, and his license on the wall expired in 2007. My biggest issue with this place is a matter of principle. About 50 miles after leaving I got a check engine light, I called the owner, we talked about possible causes, and upon investigation I found that they had physically broken an oxygen sensor while removing/installing the transmission. I changed the oxygen sensor myself and returned the following Monday with a receipt to be reimbursed for the cost of the broken sensor ($46). The owner (Rob) called me a liar, laughed through half of our conversation, and after arguing for about 30 minutes offered me a $25 credit toward future service (but no reimbursement for the part they broke). The worst service I've ever seen. This is how he treats a customer who spends $1500 at his facility. He can keep his $25 credit, and he can lose the business of all of my friends and family. We know a lot of people in Bay City, and they'll all be hearing about this cheap, rude, jerk.
Big Big Mistake

I took my car to Price's Auto Service. When doing the work, they damaged the engine, causing it to completely self destruct less than 1 hour (56 miles) later. After having paid them over $1,300 to fix my car, it was only worth salvage value. They then did everything in the book to deny any responsibility. I consider them the most dishonest people that I have ever dealt with. The owner is not a person that I would play cards with, nor golf, or let anywhere near my car.
- Pros: Clean Shop
- Cons: In my opinion dishonest
