If the food doesn't kill you the owner will!. First off, it was the first time I had ever been to this bar and was there to meet some friends. The first thing I noticed was the nasty sewage/mold smell eminating from the back of the place. you could tell they had some sort of spray to try to mask the smell, but it wasn't working.

Next, the $6 price tag for a beer was shocking.

But here is the best part. There was a Woman playing acoustic guitar and halfway through her set she was talking about how when she first came here in 2004 from Scottland, she got a job working to help elect John Kerry and the upstanding John Edwards for the DNC.

After she was done playing, she came around and asked everyone at each table our opinion of her show and if we would sign up for her email list. After asking my opinion I stated that her voice and playing was nice, but a little advice would be not to talk politics during your show because you have a good possibility of turning half your audience off to your music. She said thank you for the advice and continued on to another table.

Well, about 5 minutes later, the owner comes over to our table, grabs my beer and yells at me to get out of the f*cking bar because he hates Republicans! To that I said fine and got up and promptly left. I asked for my money back for my beer on my way out and he wouldn't give it back.

So then I am standing on the public sidewalk outside of the bar waiting for our friend who was supposed to meet us there so we can go to a place down the street, and the owner of the bar comes out with 6 guys and starts yelling at me that I can't stand there, I need to go to the end of the street. I inform him that I am on public property and I couldn't believe he was going to make me call the police. At that he said, "you want police?, here is the police" at which one of the plain clothes gentleman came over and started pushing me in the chest. They also started pushing the young lady who was with me. Real tough guys! I pulled my phone out, called the police, and they were there very quickly. The thugs scurried back into the filthy pub, and when the police went in to talk to them, the corrupt cop was hiding, and the rest made up a story that they only pushed me back out of the bar after I tried to re enter the place. What a bunch of Liars! At that, they said they would press charges on me if I pressed charges on them.

Well, I know that was a long story, but hopefully it will save others from being harassed by jerks like this. I knew from the smell that there was a sewage/mold problem, but now I also know the owner and his pals are filthy sewer rats themselves!

Excellent Beer Selection, Best Fish & Chips in So Cal!. We sat at the bar and watched the Lakers game this afternoon. The British bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the various draft beers they served. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the Fish & Chips and Shepard's pie were Delicious. They could use a bit more variety in the wine dept. though.

Best fish&chips around. We don't bar hop but we do very much enjoy the lunches at the Falconer.. Especially the fish and chips(my favorite). My wife has enjoyed many items on the menu and is very pleased. Our hats are off to Hannah and Angela who make it very enjoyable experience

User review by sixthruler. The atmosphere is great, the beer is awesome, and the quality of food is very high. The staff is always entertaining, with an unique character. It can become crowded on college nights, and service is slow on such nights, but nothing divergent from the expected. On the whole, The Falconer is a good spot, far better than the usual dive.

Great beer, bad service. This is a great pub with a mix of townfolk and local university students. With some 15 imported beers on tap, you'll find something to like. The Falconer suffers from inept and intolerant bartenders. As any man who has ever been there, on a crowded night, find a girl to buy your drink, otherwise, you'll sober up fast.
