In Short – Boarding this classic rail car is like stepping into a TV movie of the week: Passengers, clad in formalwear, mingle with martinis in hand. A made-to-order five-course meal caters to even the pickiest palate. But just as the evening gets rolling, a murder is staged (by the in-house comic entertainment troupe) and everyone becomes a suspect. Common clients include business professionals, private parties and individuals looking for a little suspense with their meal.
Horrible

We did the Moonlight Halloween train that according to their website was suppose to be geared toward adults and older kids. It was rediculous. We were told most people dress up and our group of 4 were the only ones, the "entertainment" was childish, free paper hats and balloons were given out, the train ride scenery consisted of the backs of buildings and about 5min in, one of the staff members actually told us the ride was not scary and not much fun!! To make matters worse I'm fighting to get a refund and cannot get a call back. I'm going to be disputing the charges on my credit card in order to get our money back!! I would NEVER support this business again.
Not Worth the Price

I was very disappointed in my Star Clipper trip. As another reviewer mentioned. The trip is a few miles one way and back a few miles the other way. I remember seeing backyards and a Kmart loading dock. The food was passable but not considering the price. I was told suit-and-tie were required (and I went out and bought new clothes) but a large group was let on in very casual attire. The mystery was very amateurish and had, if I remember correctly, 5 characters, two of whom were "twins" played by the same actress. Again, this could be goofy fun but when I paid this price I was expecting something solvable and serious. They had us singing Christmas carols at one point. To top it off, Since the price of dinner was included in the trip, I tipped based on our drinks bill which was small. The waiter just took our order and wheeled the food to us, never once came and checked on our drinks or how we liked our meal. At the end of the night, he came back and very loudly and indiscreetly came and asked if there was a problem with the service since the tip was so low. By that point in the evening, after a high-priced train ride through suburbia, a sixth-grade school play, and having bought formal attire when it clearly wasn't mandatory, I felt like taking money back.
- Pros: Food was edible, train interior was nice.
- Cons: Just everything else - Not acceptable for this price.
Over priced Evening

the food was good but not great, the entertainment was good, not great and then not long enough. A little at the begginning and some at the end maybe 15 minutes each. I ws told to board between 5:30 and 6 PM, when I got thereat 5:30 they told me I had to wait till 6PM. But OH yes they have a bar you can sit at, get my point. The the delivery of the food took to long once it came to the car and the car was not even full. They charged for Ice tea which was mostly ice when I got it and no refills. The total price for the trip and meal was $158 for the two of us. the meal, service, lack of entertainment and a very bla view for the ride made this a night to forget. To end it off they kept us on the train until all those that use dcredit cards ahd signed their receipts, even thopught I paid cash.
- Pros: none
- Cons: Meal, entertainment, view
