I'm a regular customer. Excellent food and friendly service, all at the best prices around, especially the 2 for 1 nigiri selections. Also, the location is right off of Woodward on 9 mile in the most cosmopolitan area of Ferndale. Atmosphere is spot-on, with just-the-right volume (a nice selection of 80's music) so you can still have an easy conversation with a friend. I dine there at least three times per week and always feel right at home.…
Best Sushi in Ferndale. I have to admit I, wasnt to thrilled about eating in this dinky little sushi restaurant until I walked in and heard the upbeat music, saw all the great art on the walls and saw that it was much bigger than I imagined. It was my girlfriends idea to eat here and Im glad we did. The waitress suggested some awsome drinks and I tried Sake for the first time. I thought the sushi was the freashest Ive had ,and if you're looking for a special treat, try the Dr. Love roll. Im still thinking about the yummy taist of Tempura shrimp mixed with avacado and succulant eel placed on top. Ill definetly go back and bring new friends .…
Best Sushi in town for the last 5 years. I like spicy sushi and no one touches this place. Staff is friendly, and service is great. Everything is fresh & tasty. The Sweet Jesus, Dynamite California Roll, and Volcano Roll are to die for. Wish I was in ferndale more.…
Once was Good, Now Absolutely Disgusting .. I was bombarded by fruit flies while I waited for my fishy (smelled like garbage) sushi. When I poured out the soy sauce, there were DEAD FLIES in the sauce. All the flies started to land on my food, it was disgusting. Wait staff doesn't care, crappy service and rude. It's unfortunate because this place used to be really good, but now avoid at all costs. I'll never go there again and I'll tell everyone to avoid. Thankfully there are much better sushi places in town now.…
No more Nami for me.
I've been a patron of Nami for years, and I've put up with the typically spotty service and rude owner for the quality of the sushi that eventually arrived at my table at a reasonable price. I have
to say, no more. Our last visit featured obviously overburdened watistaff (two servers for all indoor and outdoor tables in a full restaurant), chefs and servers shouting at each other about orders, and a cloud of fruit flies hovering over the tables. Finally, the quality of the sushi on my last few visits has fallen to the point where I'll gladly go elsewhere and pay a little more for better quality, service, and ambiance. This change in quality may be attributable to the new guys behind the sushi counter, but the high turnover rate of staff in general is a sign that something's not right here.
If you want to save a few bucks on mediocre sushi with poor service, stop in at Nami.
Sadly, I'm done with what used to be a local diamond in the rough.…
