We went here last Mother's Day and it was packed. I had heard about this place many times and it lived up to its reputation for delicious food. Our service was a little slow and it was quite noisy inside but, as previously mentioned, it was also very full so probably understandable.

My family and I used to go here for every special occasion. We loved it. I could eat my weight in the bread they leave on your table. But then they upped the prices by about $10 a plate and cut their vegetarian dishes. With four vegetarians in the family, that meant that we could not longer afford to go. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for these facts. Very sad, because this place is top notch. Probably the best restaurant I have ever been to. Highly recommended for a special night out.

Don't let the word Grill fool you, the Common Grill is anything but a common grill! They have outstanding food prepared by a chef renown all over MI. The food is wonderful, fresh and prepared with care. The wait staff is experienced, quick to take and serve your order. The restaurant area can be a little noisy, and there is off street parking in the back. It is also very close to the Purple Rose Theater, which makes it a nice place to go after that.
