In Short – Established in 1982, this chain gained a following for its laid-back atmosphere and generous portions. Patrons settle into comfortable booths and tables in dining rooms with plants, artwork and décor reminiscient of the villas in the Tuscan countryside. Starters include scampi, sausage or pepperoni pizza, and several soup choices, as well as a signature seafood dip (crab, shrimp, cheese and marinara). Entrees include classics like lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo and chicken parmigiana. There are also "Garden Fare" options, which promise 30 percent fewer calories.

Horrible Experience at Olive Garden in Ann Arbor
by scout771
We just experienced the worst treatment at Olive Garden today Monday, Feb 15th.
My family and I decided to celebrate my mother's 69th birthday at Olive Garden, one of her favorite resturants. We agreed to go on Monday at 4:00, thinking that it would quiet enough and off hour enough that we would be seated fairly quickly. So off we went to Olive Garden, with four adults and 2 young children..none of us had eaten much lunch, because we figured we would have an early dinner.
This is what we experienced...We were told that our wait time would be 20 minutes, after 35 minutes, we asked when we might be seated. No answer, after 40 minutes, we decided to talk to the manager. She informed us that the servers could only handle 3 tables at a time and that we could not be seated yet. After 50 minutes, witnessing 5 or 6 servers standing around talking to each other, empty tables, again being told by the manager that they didn't have enough servers to take care of us (a party of 6), and being snickered at by the hosts. We left and will not being going back to that establishment nor any other Olive Garden in the near or far future.
We instead walked into Max and Erma's, were seated promptly and had the best dining experience ever!
- Pros: nothing
- Cons: Awful service, awful management, and awful employees
