In Short – Buddy's is a Detroit institution ("since 1946"). It's loud and family-friendly, with TVs everywhere, and serves distinguished, if not risky, pizza; the furthest away from traditional it gets is the gourmet vegetarian pizza with cauliflower and broccoli. The unusual crust is one reason Buddy's delights; it's barely there and yet crisp as can be. A wide range of fried appetizers, homemade soups, burgers, sandwiches and pastas is also available.
Disgusting pizza, disgusting price.

We were in Warren for a funeral, and that night at our hotel asked the front desk lady for a good pizza place,
she recommended the usual Jets, Hungry Howies, and Pizza Hut, then mentioned Buddys. We went online and saw all the amazing reviews and decided it was worth it.
The service was friendly and honest, we ordered our food and decided upon the four cheese "Top 25 best pizzas, award winner" pizza, and a side of bread sticks. The bread sticks were tasty, as well as the tomato basil sauce. When our pizza got to use we excitedly began to chow down, only to discover that it was toast (OVER DONE TOAST) with clumps of flavorless cheese thrown about with sauce. The whole thing wasn't even covered, where there WAS sauce there WASNT cheese, and where there WAS (all the WAS' are Hardlys I might add) cheese, there WASNT sauce. The whole thing tasted burnt, and was just nothing like we expected, it was pretty much a flavorless piece of toast trying to be passed off as "low fat greatness." AND GET THIS EVEN our waitress said that for as long as she had been working there, shes never liked the pizza and had said that our pizza like many others had looked over cooked, she also said even her kids didnt like the food, and that she didnt understand why it was so popular, or why anyone would pay such a HIGH price for eight slices of pizza.. two toppings rounds you out to seventeen dollars. Needless to say Mrs. Karen recieved a hefty tip, especially after she told the manager that we hated it, and got our entire meal for free. I can surely say I never intend to come this far out, nor reccomend anything I got here to anyone. I should have gone to jets.. and the leftovers are being fed to my dogs.
- Pros: bread sticks, basil tomato sauce, waitress, arguless refund!
- Cons: The "Pizza" and the price.

Buddy's has always been a family favorite and still is. The pizza is chewy, but warma dn cripsy on the outside! The sauce tastes great, you have to try their antipasto salad with your pizza- it makes the experience even better. They have many other things you can get here- but I rarely see anybody get anything except pizza, salad, and breadsticks. There a few locations, so if you want to try someof the best pizza ever- you have to go to Buddy's!
- Pros: PIZZA, SERVICE, SALAD, BREADSTICKS, FUN
- Cons: CROWDED SOMETIMES
Have been a regular at Buddy's for over 50 years!

I am 57 and I have been a regular Buddys pizza lover for over 50 years. My father started taking our family there back in 1956 when I was only 7 years old. He knew the original owners at the Detroit location on 6 mile & Conant and he went there on a regular basis until he passed away in October 2005 at the great age of 92!
Although me and my family moved of Florida over 20 years ago, we still go to Michigan and eat Buddy's pizza almost every night for dinner and their great anti-pasta salads. It is a great family atmosphere and all of my 4 children were brought up on Buddys and still go there when we visit in Michigan. We also bring back their half baked pizzas to put in our freezer so we can some when we get home for the next couple of months.
there is NOTHING in Florida that is even close to Buddys Pizza and I wish they'd open up a location down here!
- Pros: The pizza is the best and you can get coupons off the internet!
- Cons: The cost is consistently rising every year but I guess it's like everything else!
