Best restaurant in the Coachella Valley

This beautiful restaurant is located in old Palm Springs and is a true first class dining experience! It is the true gem of the experience we have tried to preserve here in our desert paradise...obviously not everyone gets it.
Everything here is prepared from scratch and takes a little longer to prepare; they use only highest quality products and of course, it is not inexpensive...just very well worth it if one has a discerning palate. Mr. Bruggemans and his top-notch staff have done the most magnificent job anywhere in Southern California! Amen!
- Pros: Everything here is top notch!
- Cons: Can be intimidating
Nice place, but terrible attitude

When we first went to Le Vallauris several years ago, we thought it was one of the finer eating establishments we'd ever been to. Because of that, we wanted to celebrate our anniversary there while visiting Palm Springs this year. My wife ordered their house specialty fish, which as it turned out was not up to fine dining standards. In fact, it was pretty bad. When we called the waiter over to report her dinner was not satisfactory, we were not expecting to find ourselves berated by the waiter and the manager for not appreciating their house specialty. Now, I have to admit that our dinner tab was only $130 before tip, but a person really expects a restaurant that serves the occasional bad meal to apologize and offer another entree. It seemed very out of the ordinary for a restaurant staff to berate and insult their clients instead of rectifying the problem. We paid our bill, and, to show that we Texans are better people than our hosts, we left the waiter a nice tip. It is a very nice place, but we won't be returning.
- Pros: convenient to downtown and a very nice setting
- Cons: they can be unbelievably arrogant
