I had read glowing reviews of Mings on some other web-sites and decided that I must try it! Wrong! It was below average. The Hot and Sour Soup was more like a thick brown broth. It lacked vegetables, tofu, or scallions. The theme was repeated with the Fried Rice. It didn't have a speck of meat, carrots, corn, scallions, or anything. It was just a pile of rice with brown color. The fried shrimp and fried wonton were like mummified remains. (See my photos! It's sad!) The interior was pleasant enough. The service was okay. The prices were reasonable. But the food was so poor that I did not even take home the left-overs! My good friend quipped that it was like the terrible Chinese food that his mid-western ex-wife used to cook. It's a shame, too. I am sure these are nice people who work hard at their craft. But the food isn't any good. Try China Wok on Washington Avenue in Palm Desert. They know how to cook great food!

My Father introduced Ming's to me and my Husband about 7 years ago. I have been coming to the valley since 1964 and my Father, who was truly a food-aholic ate his way through the valley!!! (not to mention the rest of the US) Needless to say, we have ate in many of the restaurants in the valley over the years and Ming's was one of my Father's favorites for Chinese and now is mine too. We eat there a couple times a month and the food is always wonderful!!!

I can't believe it took me almost 3 years to discover this "hidden" treasure in Cathedral City. I have driven by it a thousand times and never stopped. They do not advertise much, and it looks non-descript in a strip center of ordinary looking establishments. A friend took me to lunch a few months ago, and I am hooked, and a regular now. Be sure and look at the daily specials. The chef/owner offers some really wonderful taste treats on the daily special entree menu. The wine selection here is quite remarkable for such a tiny place. They already carry some of my favorites.
