Good Food in a hidden shopping center – The food is exceptionally great! The Chicken Tikka and Garlic Shrimp are awesome as well as the onion Kulcha. Prices are fair b/c they do provide value and quality. They also have a nice all you can eat buffet. The place was packed from the moment we sat down until we left. The service (taking the initial order) took some time due to their business, but overall all our needs were attended to very well. I will definitely go back to try more on the menu, as well as the all you can eat buffet. A+ quality food.
Great Customer Service – I have eaten here several times and the food is always of excellent, it is the best vegetarian Indian food I have had in MD. The portions are large and the food and drink arrives quickly.
The service I also haven't had a problem with the waiters are attentive and when we've asked for anything it has always been brought immediately.
BAD FOOD – This place has gone from bad to worse. The food is defintiely not good, no taste and poor quality. I was there for lunch yesterday and they did not even pack our leftovers correctly....so we ended up paying close to $100 for bad food and got stiffed with the leftovers as well. I would not reccommend India Palace to anyone.
Indian Sweets – I haven't ever tried Indian sweets before, however one of my coworkers brought in this absolutely delicious dessert from this place in Germantown! I decided to go out and try some of the items, and needless to say they were just eye catching. I liked the milk desserts the best, however, there was such a huge selection to choose from that I definitely need to make a few more trips. The best part was that the manager told me they make everything from scratch in the kitchen, and I could taste how fresh it was too!
value for you money – I had been to India Palace Bar and Tandoor multiple times. Most of the Indian restaurant lacks in service area. When I went there for the first time I was really surpised to see the quality of the service. Most of all, the owner of the restaurant seems to be a gentle person, unlike one other very famous (?) hiughly advertised restarant where all the waiters are relatives of owner and owner keep on chatting loudly about family talks in Hindi, here everyone seems to be thorugh professional. WHen it comes to food, the food is of excellent quality. Being a vegetarian, in general I like their Samosa and Aloo Papri Chaat the most. Also somehow they don't have Mashroom Mattar in menu list, but if you ask for it, they deliver it. And it is really good. Summary- Must try
GREAT FOOD ***** – Great food at good prices! The portions were excellent and the dishes made to order (spicewise). I have been there few times with my husband and the service is good too.
So good, you'll go back the next day – The day after I first went to India Palace Bar and Tandoori, I couldn't stop thinking about it's delicious Tandori Chicken. So I went back that night, and took a friend. It was so good, he went back the next day for lunch. This place frickin' rocks.
KING OF INDIAN CUSINE – THIS RESTAURANT TOOK US FROM A COMPLETE SURPRISE AS EARLIER EXPERIENCES IN OTHER INDIAN RESTAURANTS WERE NOT PLEASANT. SO AFTER TRYING INDIA PALACE BAR AND TANDOOR IN GERMANTOWN, YOU REALLY FEEL GOOD AS THE FOOD IS SUPERB AND SERVICE IS GREAT. STAFF IS VERY ACCOMODATING AND TOOK SPECIAL CARE WHENEVER ME OR MY FRIENDS ARE DINNING IN.
HATS OFF TO INDIA PALACE!!!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD STUFF!!!!!!
worth the trip – All these years I was scared of trying indian food as i heard indian food is extreamly hot ,but one day i and my friend finally tried lunch buffet at India palce Bar and Tandoor in Germantown. To my surprise they had extreamly good food and house was full. Tandoori chicken on the bone makes you remember why the dish is so popular. The flesh, flavorful from its marination in yogurt and spices, emerges from the intense heat of the tandoor moist and delicious. Many Indian restaurants assume Americans don't like hot food, but "hot" here means just that. Perhaps the spiciest dish on the menu is the superb lamb vindaloo, spiked with vinegar. Chilli Chicken, in a sauce , green chilies, and herbs, is delicious. Fish Masala is a subtle combination of fish, rich tomato sauce, and spices. I love this restaurant , a must have once a week!!!!
