Comfort with Style

When my friend in the area recommended The Grand, I checked t out. Elegant is what one would call the place. The grounds and apartments are all well styled and maintained. When I checked out opinions online, it sounded like a horror story. Poor service, faulty equipment, etc. I spent the next few weeks checking into the matter and then signed a lease. It was convenient to the metro, and walking distance to a large variety of shopping. The price was a little more than I had anticipated paying.

The only thing lingering was the question of poor service and equipment; paint could hide a bunch of issues. I moved in and was a bit nervous; toilet was cracked, dryer had gum stuck to it and wireless access was not running. I went downstairs to find the office was closed during the weekends. –found out later any issues could be taken up with 24x7 concierges.

After a rocky weekend start, the following Monday, maintenance was up to repair items within 12 hours of reporting –they say 24, however, I’ve never had more than 12 (and that’s calling at 10pm). I’ve been here one year and sad to say I’m leaving as I was just starting to get to know the staff. They’re great.

I’ve found management and staff responsive, helpful and friendly. The monthly get together are well planned –not a cheap effort.

The only thing I would suggest is move in during mid-week, the north bank of elevators (freight) are typically booked solid on weekends. If I come back to this general area I’ll lease here again.
