Nestled among the whaling captains' houses of Edgartown, this beautiful hotel sits on a quiet side of town, far enough from the hustle to relax, but close enough to walk to everything. Rock languidly in chairs on the wraparound porch and watch the sky change colors over the lighthouse. On chilly nights, sit in front of a roaring fire in the lobby. The main structure was built in 1891, but modern wings have been added on throughout the years.

The Details
The rooms are warm and luxurious, with extras like robes and cable TV. There are several two-bedroom cottages on the property. A heated, outdoor pool is great for families, but it also has a poolside bar for the grown-ups. If you need to get out and exercise, there are tennis courts and a golf course nearby. The Coach House Restaurant has water views and Vineyard-inspired cuisine.
