What People Are Saying About Danish Pastry House

In Short – In the former home of Iggy's bakery resides the aptly-named Danish Pastry House. Started by a Dane and using imported ingredients, the bakery churns out acclaimed cakes, breads and pastries. The cramped, takeout-only bakery offers a wide assortment of free samples. Compared to store-brand breads, the Pastry House's are exceptionally dense and flavorful, and the homemade marzipan satisfies even the strongest sweet tooth. Fresh coffee and homemade soups round out the offerings.

BEST DANISH PASTRY - BEST PLACE TO WORK

by cmoshea at Citysearch

As a former employee and present customer of the Danish Pastry House I can only say the best things about the quality of the danish products. All products are made from scratch with the best imported Danish butter, the best Marzipan made in the US as well as the best nuts and other ingredients available. All pastries and cakes are made fresh daily in small batches to ensure a quality product. Any product that is not used by the end of the day is donated to local shelters and charities. The owner of the Danish Pastry House is indeed VERY Danish and makes sure that the quality and authenticity of the products meet with her approval.

As a former employee I can say it was a great place to work and I was sad to leave the many friends I had made during my employment. It's sad to read nasty comments made by former employees about such a great place.

Stop by and try the pastries for yourself - either at their Watertown location or their Medford location. You'll agree that everything is delicious.

Danish Pastry like nothing you've ever had!

by marty_dugan at Citysearch

Unless you have lived in Denmark, you have never experienced real Danish pastry. American pastry shops and cafes pale in comparison to the mastery of tthe art of pastery you can experience here. If you enjoy pastry that is not overly sweet, perfectly delicate and full of rich flavor then visit this pastry shop. Made with rich tasting european flours and imported bakers (real Danes) You won't be disappointed. I recommend the kringle.

  • Pros: Perfect Pastry, All the breads, Chocolate
  • Cons: Small Shop

I love this place!

by shannonearley at Citysearch

The Danish Pastry House is what we've all been waiting for without knowing it! The bread is wonderful and baked fresh daily - I love the 3 seed. And the pasrty's are to die for. The change every day it seems so there is always something new to have. I bring the pastrys to work and all my coworkers love them. It's not too sweet, just absolutely perfect. And the individual desserts are great for individual birthday cakes or perfect desserts for a fancy dinner. GO THERE and tell all your friends!

  • Pros: inexpensive, individual, one of a kind
