Something for everyone

This is my favorite restaurant in Waltham! I love to bring people here, because they have something for everybody, from my friends who are impressed by the number of vegan dishes on the menu, to the meat-lovers who love the Loc-Lac and the steak-frites. I have also come here with children in tow, and the staff were very helpful in finding things that the kids would eat.
The Loc-Lac is garlic tenderloin tips, with plenty of garlic. If you're looking for flavor, that's the dish I would recommend.
Another unique dish is the Mee Siem au Poulet. A spicy noodle and chicken dish topped with strips of egg. It's a fascinating combination of tastes.
You should start with some spring rolls, which come on a plate with big lettuce leaves, sprouts, and some sauce. You rip off a piece of the lettuce, toss in some sprouts and a spring roll, spoon on the sauce and roll up the lettuce. it's a great combination of textures and flavors, as well as a test of your dexterity.
The portions are generous, but if you have room left over for dessert, I like the peche au chocolate - a very rich, intense piece of chocolate cake. My friench-speaking friends tell me it translates to "chocolate sin", but I think it's heavenly.
- Pros: Unique flavors, fresh food
- Cons: none
Pathetic food and prices

Elephant walk has some of the worst Viet/French food I have had in the country. The wine list is thirsty, the dinner menu has some excellent dish names but the dishes themselves are overly sweet and do not do justice to the cuisine. The appetizers were greasy and also too sweet. The service was not so bad but lacked charisma. On the whole, try some other restaurant.
Don't Bother

Disappointed from the moment I walked in the door. Dirty floors, food on the wall from previous diners and a disgusting bathroom. The service was so-so, the waitress was pleasant but made no attempt to wipe up a puddle which had seeped from our appetizer onto the table, so it sat there the entire time because she never stopped over to see how we were doing. The food was bland and overpriced. I've had better, cheaper. I should have gone with my first instinct and turned around as soon as I sat. The only good part of the meal was the bread, which is brought in from outside and baked on-site.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Food, atmosphere, service
