I don't think the negative experiences could happen with the current staff - it's a wonderful restaurant!
A good standard restaurant.
Am surprised at some of the reviews listed here. This is my favorite place to go in Lexington. The menu is always interesting, refreshing. The service has always been good. What's good about Lexx is that it's a nice combination of class and casual. Have always been impressed by the innovation with the food. Always take out of towners here. Once brought a family from France. They liked it.
Have been here around four times and always had a good experience. The fact that they are doing well speaks of their quality and intention.
The Worst Dining Experience EVER. A group of colleagues and I visited Lexx on 15Apr2010 with the intentions of enjoying a few appetizers and drinks. It was not just one of the worst dining experiences ever – but the ABSOLUTE worst dining experience of my life. The manager was rude from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. My colleagues and I expected to have a nice and enjoyable dining experience, but instead we were greeted by staff who seemed to have absolutely no clue how to handle a large party and a manager who was very pretentious and rude. We arrived as a party of 5 around 5pm. We received news that 4 or 5 other colleagues were planning to join us and we informed the waiter. The waiter informed the manager who came out of the kitchen to tell us we would have to leave by 6 because the dining room was only for patrons who were dining. The rest of our party showed up and we then waited for 15-20 minutes while the manager ran around in complete panic about where to seat us. Oh, forgot to mention that the restaurant was COMPLETELY EMPTY. We were essentially the only people there. The manager finally figured out that putting two square tables together would solve the “problem” of the additional guests. Our party of 9 was finally seated and we proceeded to order appetizers and drinks. Around 6:15pm the manager came back to our table to tell us that we were being too loud and that none of the other guests wanted to be seated near us. I politely requested the bill and the manager happily obliged. When all was said and done, we had spent ~$350 in a little over an hour and a half and were insulted and made to feel unwelcome from the moment we walked in. I spoke with the manager about our experience and he was unapologetic. Rest assured that my colleagues and I will NEVER return to Lexx.
THE WORST.
I went to Lexx recently with my boyfriend for a romantic evening out. First, when we arrived we were had to wait ten minutes to be seated, even though we had a reservation (they appeared very unorganized). Drinks came quickly and service was friendly enough. Things got bad when the food came. I ordered the herb chicken, which was so dry it was barely edible. My boyfriend ordered a streak, which was ok except the soggy fries that came with it!
Dessert was boring and service of our coffees was slow.
Bottom line: way over priced, poorly managed, poorly done.
Regular menu items but high price. Wait staff was average. Over priced for what you get. Food on the salty side. Went there twice. Liked the bar better than the dinning room.
bad service and mediocre food. don't waste your time - the waitstaff is routinely slow/rude - the food is pricey and not that good - just a lame suburban attempt at fine dining...
Bad food and HORRIBLE service.
The food is way over-priced and everything was so salty. The cocktails were weak and tasted funny. Our service was so slow. It took almost 15 minutes to have a service greet us and there was NO ONE IN THE RESTAURANT.
I live in the area and wanted Lexx to be good, but I will never return.
Modern American fare has an upscale casual home in Lexington Center..
In Short
With a comforting menu of contemporary faves--flatbread pizzas, house-cured ribs, roasted chicken--Lexx aims to satisfy its suburban clientele. A tiny bar provides a laid-back spot to pass the time while waiting for a table (reservations are a good idea on the weekend). Popular menu items also include meaty crab cakes, pan-roasted cod and rich molten chocolate cake.
