Terrible Service Ruined Breakfast. I love having breakfast out with my family. We are good cooks and enjoy making pancakes & waffles at home but there is something nice about sipping a diner cup of coffee and noshing on home fries off the grill while planning the rest of a weekend day. So I was excited to try Dempsey's which I heard had good breakfast foods and a great selection of muffins.

The place was crowded but not full on a Saturday morning. It took so long to get menus that my husband just went up and got some. Two seconds later a grumpy server wanted to take our order. She wondered off when we said we needed a minute and did not come back for a long time.

Finally we ordered pancakes, oatmeal, scrambled eggs and bacon w bagel. Not hing too complex. The oatmeal was gummy and my bagel was fine BUT my eggs never arrived even after two reminders to the server who could have cared less. The kids pancakes were large and tasty. We cancelled the egg order with no comment from the server and paid the check and left.

We did not taste the muffins and I don't think we will return to do so.

nice place!. would have given them the full 5 stars - but i reserve that for top of the line places or services. This place is great though - and i enjoy returning fromtime to time.

Frienly, personable and the food is fantastic...its been that way for over 20yrs. Being from Somerville and a Medford homeowner for over 25 yrs I have sampled all the dishes and muffins

and coffee at Dempsey's for years.....its the best.....my favorite local spot especially for poached eggs, omlettes, ah !! the grilled cheese and tomatoe sandwiches.......the friendly service and the personable style of the owners.....makes dining in Haynes (Hanies Sq) a great experience.....they have made it so pleasurable for me I just keep coming back because the experience, food and the owners/staff only gets better everytime.......its a great local landmark.......GREATEST HOME COOKED MEAL IN TOWN............
