If you're a true Italian, you'll love this place. I finally made my way into this pastry shop after living here for a year. It always has a ton of customers, so I decided to stop in. The spinach pie was just like my grandmother used to make. Perfect for a quick lunch and reasonably priced. They also have an incredible selection of cookies, cakes, and pastries, made fresh daily.

best cannolis. I just experienced my first taste of Modern Pastry and all I have to say is "Magnifico!" I had just finished a very satisfying meal in the North End yet I couldn't resist not going into this pastry shop. I immediately went for the cannoli...in a few moments I was in heaven. It is by far the best cannoli I have ever tasted. If you haven't tried it, please do. The rest of their pastry repertoire looked equally satisfying.

Ricotta Pie to Die For!. This place has the best ricotta pie in the world!

Modern Pastry in Medford/Boston should be the number one pick in the Boston area for Italian desserts.

BETTER THAN MIKE'S. Modern has the most delicious cannolis of anywhere I have ever been. I've tried them at so many places and nothing compares. I don't understand what all the hype is about Mike's, Modern is the place that really knows how to make a great cannoli.

I want candy. I always wait in the line--it's worth it!

The torrone is the best! I buy it by the pounds. The pastries are also melt in your mouth.

Canoli!!!!. I ducked out of the rain here one night about two weeks ago on a wonderful vacation. I had a canoli that had been dipped in bittersweet chocolate chips at both ends and washed it down with an Italian espresso. It was heavenly to be warm and dry and eating such wonderful food with such nice people. The walls are covered with pictures of friends and family creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. There are also Italian cookies and many other treats to be purchased to go here that all looked wonderful.
