The Best!!!!!!!.
I moved away from the Boston area a few years ago. The only restaurant I have not been able to duplicate in my new home (or get out of my mind)... is Redbones.
RB does BBQ right. Arkansas and Baby Back!!!!!
I miss you Redbones!!

RedBones - the side dishes are the best. Seeing as there's 72 reviews already up here, it's not as though we NEED another one... but I just wanted to say that I was there last night and the service was impeccable. Friendly, courteous, and timely. Had the chicken sandwich - hit the spot perfectly at 11:45. But the best thing about RedBones are the sides. Last night my meal came with mashed potatoes and black beans... amazing. Another side dish to try is the collard greens.

Am I a "Regular" Yet?.
I think my boyfriend is still pretty miffed that I waited almost a solid year of him living in Medford before the words, "You know where we should go? ...Redbones" came tumbling out of my mouth. A solid twelve months of Regina's at Station Landing, the J Tree in Davis, and all our usual downtown spots for lunch or dinner...and I had never so much as thought to bring my favorite scruffy hippy to what he would later deem "Heaven".
I'm a touch of a beer snob, and so is he. I also tend to spend the bulk of my negligible income on important things like rent, vodka, flip flops and premium cable. So it is no wonder why I absolutely LOVE me some Redbones.
The beer list is extensive and always changing. The fact that the staff can keep up with the various brews and be able to help you find one--and then find it themselves on the tap tower despite all the taps being unlabeled, carved wood--is mind blowing.
And then, of course, there's the food.
The cheap, delicious, most comforting of comfort foods. The pulled pork sandwich makes me happy I stopped the whole "I don't eat pigs cause they're as smart as dogs" tangent I went on for a year or so. Brain capacity aside, dear Piggy, you are effing delicious when slow cooked.
I also highly, highly recommend the mac and cheese (my boyfriend said he wanted to "put it down his pants". That's a good thing. I swear), the RIBS, the hush puppies, the fried pickles, the buffalo scallops, the BBQ hash...
I could continue, but you get the point. You could drunkenly throw a dart at this menu to choose and would probably love what you got.
And finally, must give a particular nod to the staff. I worked service industry for so long that I feel I must acknowledge when people go above and beyond to be accommodating, interested and funny. This has consistently been the case every time at Redbones.

The Best BBQ in Boston!. I was first introduced to Redbones in the spring of 2007 even though I've been a resident since 2003. I have never been disappointed! the pulled pork is amazing and i've tried almost all the rib types and you can't go wrong. I like how they will gladly bring you all 4 types of sauce from sweet to Crying your eyes out HOT!!! i wasnt a huge fan of the Hush Puppies (fried cornbread) but thats just a personal thing. They have a great drink menu too. The only thing I was disappointed with was the bloody mary. all the other drinks are fabulous! they have a lengthy beer menu as well. the portions are huge and its hard to decide on just one. I highly recommend doing it family style if you like the people you're with! that way you can sample a little bit of everything.

Good BBQ, average sides. This place knows how to BBQ. If you're form the south, don't expect anything special, but for the NE crowd, it's good stuff for sure. Cheap booze, good food and a cool atmosphere too. Try the pulled pork or the St. Louis ribs. Cornbread is a must, but most sides leave somehting to be desireed. No doubt, this place will leave some extra coin in the pocket though. Sandwiches and such start around $7.00 and there is at least one $2.50 beer on the menu.

soggy bbq , not good. this place has the rep as a good bbq joint , and i dont know why! soggy and dry at the same time the ribs are not very good , i guess if you just drink a lot of beer you cant tell the the food is tastless and nasty, but i have to give the credit for there pecan pie! it is outstanding!! so just go foe a beer and some pie!
