Delightful and fun. A real treat. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Evoo last night. The atmosphere was electric, the wine list was fun and the food, divine. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our celebration of 5 years. We will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special time.…
Excellent, vibrant and calming meal, good solid place to be. Enjoyed EVOO immensely. The emphasis seems to be on fresh, clean tastes with integrity and some complexity, some herbs but lightly seasoned. Excellent food, good wait staff, present, clear and helpful, no overbearing. Good selection on the prix fix, wine was good but not fabulous, dessert was amazing, interesting and delightful, with care.…
Trendy but insightful. GREAT dining experience! I especially loved the 3 course meal with wine tastings, a great deal at $50 pp. The wine pairings were most excellent. The apple, pumpkin, walnut, and goat cheese salad was to die for.…
Audacious American fare puts this amiable Somerville landmark on the national culinary map..
The Scene
EVOO--the name's an acronym for Extra Virgin Olive Oil--attracts diners from across the country with an acclaimed menu of creative American cuisine. Area professionals and
starry-eyed couples fill the comfortable, airy dining room to pay downtown prices for dreamy dishes like a creamy flan appetizer made from porcini mushrooms and roasted garlic. The welcoming bar accommodates diners looking for a light bite and a few glasses from a lengthy, intricate wine list. Sociable servers are intensely familiar with the menu's many intricacies.
The Food

The McCarthys are members of a farmers' collective, and their ever-changing menu incorporates fresh, seasonal ingredients. Delicious, colorfully titled entrees include "Duck, Duck, Goose" (confit, foie gras and breast meat, respectively). Desserts, including a refreshing Thai basil-infused vanilla-orange creme brulee, are no less inventive or satisfying.…
