Delightful and fun. A real treat. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Evoo last night. The atmosphere was electric, the wine list was fun and the food, divine. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our celebration of 5 years. We will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special time.

Excellent, vibrant and calming meal, good solid place to be. Enjoyed EVOO immensely. The emphasis seems to be on fresh, clean tastes with integrity and some complexity, some herbs but lightly seasoned. Excellent food, good wait staff, present, clear and helpful, no overbearing. Good selection on the prix fix, wine was good but not fabulous, dessert was amazing, interesting and delightful, with care.

Trendy but insightful. GREAT dining experience! I especially loved the 3 course meal with wine tastings, a great deal at $50 pp. The wine pairings were most excellent. The apple, pumpkin, walnut, and goat cheese salad was to die for.

Audacious American fare puts this amiable Somerville landmark on the national culinary map.. The Scene
EVOO--the name's an acronym for Extra Virgin Olive Oil--attracts diners from across the country with an acclaimed menu of creative American cuisine. Area professionals and starry-eyed couples fill the comfortable, airy dining room to pay downtown prices for dreamy dishes like a creamy flan appetizer made from porcini mushrooms and roasted garlic. The welcoming bar accommodates diners looking for a light bite and a few glasses from a lengthy, intricate wine list. Sociable servers are intensely familiar with the menu's many intricacies.

The Food
Owners Peter and Colleen McCarthy set the local standard for creativity with adventurous dishes like goat cheese and caramelized onion enchiladas. The McCarthys are members of a farmers' collective, and their ever-changing menu incorporates fresh, seasonal ingredients. Delicious, colorfully titled entrees include "Duck, Duck, Goose" (confit, foie gras and breast meat, respectively). Desserts, including a refreshing Thai basil-infused vanilla-orange creme brulee, are no less inventive or satisfying.

The best value in the Boston area. The first time we went here, I had a crab appetizer (unfortunately, a special that night - I haven't seen it on the menu since) that was very possibly the best thing I have ever eaten in my whole life. We've been back 3 times since then, and we've always enjoyed our meal. EVOO is much less expensive than comprable restaurants in downtown Boston, and parking is easy (there's a lot around the corner, by the video store). It also has an atmosphere that is at once laid-back and lively. A very fun spot. It might be the best restaurant around for groups.

Incredible food, atmosphere & service. This was the first time I'd ever been to EVOO and I can't believe it took me so long to discover it! I ordered from the chef's tasting menu (it was a Monday night) and my date ordered off of the regular menu. The presentation was amazing. The food didn't disappoint -- it was extremely fresh, perfectly seasoned, and expertly cooked. There wasn't a single thing we'd change about the meal. Service was excellent -- waiter was knowledgeable, attentive & friendly. Decor & "vibe" make this a great place to take a date or a group of friends.

Free parking in a lot next to the building is just another perk!

Highly recommended!!!!!

We go back whenever we can justify it. Evoo has become a regular treat, whenever we feel we can justify the splurge. They never disappoint. The menu changes only slowly, but even the times when I haven't felt particularly excited about my choice, the dish has blown me away. At worst, one course has been simply quite good. Overall, the best food I've found in this town. Presentation is superb, but never overshadows the sensual pleasure of the eating. Even the taste of their chicken is a treat - they use the best ingredients. We always leave feeling that life is good.

fantastic, romantic, and delicious!. I just went to Evoo last Saturday evening and was very impressed! My partner wanted to surprise me with a romantic dinner date and boy did he pick the right place! The service was outstanding, the appetizers and entrées were excellent, and the desserts were unlike any I'd tasted before. I had a caramel flavored crème brûlée and my partner had a chocolate mousse that was infused with the flavor of chipotle peppers and served with a scoop of basil-flavored sorbet (yeah, I know that sounds weird but you simply must try it! Wow!). I highly recommend this place!! 5 stars!
