A logical after-work watering hole for Kendall Square techies, the cavernous bar also hosts clean-scrubbed MIT grad students and couples coming straight from the nearby Landmark Theatres. Live music is hosted on occasion, and there's a shaded outdoor patio. Beer lovers select from a varied in-house selection of four microbrews and a rotation of more than 50 specialty and seasonal brews. Noshers enjoy upscale bar fare like brick-oven pizzas and Asian chicken salads.

I eat out every night so I have alot of experience with many different restaurant. This is by far the WORST place I've been to with in the last 4 years. I went there for a friend's birthday.I was a little late so I sat down with my friends. Took at least five minutes for the waitress to acknowledge me. I asked for a menu and a water to start off. After waiting for about 7 minutes and still being menu-less. I just grabbed a menu from an empty table. Took another 10 minutes for the waitress to return and take my order. I had to ask for water again and one of their beers. Took close to 10 minutes to get my drinks. I ordered steak, which took about 40 minutes to get. It shouldn't take 40 minutes if the place is at about 75% of their capacity. When I did get my steak, it was over cooked to medium well. I ordered medium rare, and was very specific about that when I ordered. It took me atleast 5 minutes to flag down another waitress because mine seemed to disappeared. When I told her that it was medium well, and not medium rare like I ordered, she corrected me that it was actually cooked to medium! Very rude. And it was definitely medium well. I was so turned off to this place that when she asked me if I wanted another one, I just told her no. Everywhere I have been, if they messed up my order, atleast a manager would come and apologize. I guess they don't practice it here. I had to ask twice for our check. and they tagged on the 18% gratuity because we had a party of 10. I am a generous tipper (usually 25%) but the service here was not even worth any tip. I still gave them the 18% but not a cent more. On our way out, no one thanked us for our business or anything. Anyways, it was the worst restaurant experience in Boston I've had so far.

My boyfriend was reluctant to go to CBC as he said the service is usually terribly slow. However, since it was 2:30 in the afternoon and likely not busy, we decided to check it out anyway. I should have listened to my boyfriend. The service was horrendous despite the fact that it wasn't very busy. We were just about to get up to leave after waiting more than 45 minutes when our waiter came with our drinks and took our food order. Our food was cold when we got it, which made for a less than enjoyable meal, but there was no way we were sending it back at that point! We asked for the check when our food arrived so that we would have to wait an extra half hour for that, but he still managed to mess that up too. Yikes! On a positive note (the one positive note), the pale ale was good. Lesson learned: stick to the bar.

Cambridge Brewing Company is a great local pub. They have a great selection of beers in a friendly environment. There are alot of college students and professionals. Its a fun time and a great hang out.
