In Short
Since 1979, the chain restaurant continues to serve beef and chicken bowls as well as combo platters priced between $4 and $6. With more than 80 stores in California and New York, a few locations are open 24 hours and most offer drive-through windows. Guests can choose from soups (including clam chowder) and salads (chicken salad, garden and macaroni). The eatery also features dessert items including caramel flan and cheesecake, to name a few. With fast, friendly service and a fresh, healthy alternative to traditional fast foods, it's no wonder guests keep coming back.

I love this place. They have a great selection of crackers and cookies. Vegetable selection is ok, not a whole lot, but they make up for it, in their selection of dried goods and condiments. They have their own point program to reward loyal customers. I come here for the bread that is delivered twice a week and for the great noodle selections.

If you're looking to make a nice Japanese meal, then you have to come here. Buy any type of Japanese food and take it home. They even sell sushi-grade fish here. The store isn't all that big, but it's in a convenient location close to the T. The one downside is the store is closed on Sundays.

This place is much better-stocked with Japanese groceries than Kotobukiya. The place looks old and beaten down from the outside, but don't let that fool you. They have everything Kotobukiya has and a lot more (except kotobukiya has more japanese mags), including a larger variety of instant soups/noodles, snacks and frozen croquettes/shumais.
